Just beat BC

This team has obviously not performed to the ( now ridiculous) expectations that I and many others bought into for 2019. The hierarchy of eastern football needs to be up held (i.e. Cuse >> BC ). I bleed orange, whether I like it or not and can not give up on them - no way, no how.

Go Orange!
Agree 100% I am a die-hard fan and I don't care I was a fan watching every game in the Greg Robinson era so what does that tell you LOL.
I will never stop being a huge fan and I just hope that Syracuse will rebound and look more like that 10-3 team we saw last year

Oh, even I was optimistic. Not over-the-top, buying Orange Bowl tickets, optimistic.

But I was genuinely surprised at the Maryland debacle. Afterwards I figured it had to be some sort of fluke based on easily correctable problems in the strategy. Because I live where I live, I was pretty sure Maryland wasn't all that great.

Now the season isn't a huge disappointment as much as it is a learning experience in how fans can get it soooo wrong. The more you pump yourself up, the greater the potential fall.

I don't blame the team, the coaches, the AD, the Conference, the players, etc. I blame myself for being so gullible. This is pain we inflict on ourselves.
Sadly very true.

I just wanna feel what it feels like to win again against Boston college. I don’t care how we do it, just win.

cant wait to be back in the dome! LGO

The best way to make a garbage secondary look good is an effective pass rush.

Our offense is making a lot of garbage secondaries look good.

I don't know why, but I think we'll be a lot better this week.

I also think we'll beat BC, beat Duke, lose to Louisville and face Wake with a bowl game on the line.

I've also been wrong about everything. e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

That’s exactly how I see it. I’m hoping it’s not 1 too many juice bombs talking.

The difficulty running the football at Liberty was the first indication.

Yeah but the defense was ‘elite’ with multiple first rounders vs Liberty so it didn’t matter.

That game showed me the that our returning WRs had no improved and in fact got worse. Trish started the year well but has also regressed since anointing himself the #1. I’ve never seen a team have so few YAC.

Uhhhhh no. We haven't beaten a power five team all year. Our offense hasn't scored more than 20 against those same teams. We are last in sacks given up and 2nd to last in penalties. This isn't the fans fault. Anyone who thought we might be back to back top 25 was over-reaching imo, but to assume we would have a competitive functional team in year 4 of the Dino era is not an unrealistic expectation.

Great post. It's not the fans, it's the team -- players and coaching staff.

Fan hubris -- while an issue -- has been a distant second to a seeming hangover performance by the players and coaches involved in that 10-win season.

They have performed extremely poorly and deserve plenty of blame.

Still not convinced other than Jackson, that those other three are the best options for that offense. The two smaller guys can't get open and if they are, get knocked down by catching the pass. The other guy complains about not getting the ball or about an errant pass, but usually drops the one right in his hands. Jordan, S. Johnson, C. Jackson and Anthony Queeley should get some play hopefully to see what they have for next year.

This is so true. Dino frequently speaks with the media, so we believe we know what Dino is really thinking. The fact is we don’t have a clue what Dino is realty thinking. Like most coaches, he often protects certain players and positions with general remarks. I’d be curious to know what he really thinks about certain players and the honest reasons for the team’s struggles.

The best I’ve been able to figure: he was always concerned about regression, that expectations were probably too high, and that the team might take a step back — maybe not to this degree — before moving forward.

Before the season I thought everything had to break wrong to go 5-7. Now I think everything needs to break right to get to 5-7.

Really appalling to see Orange fans rip a player like Andrew Armstrong, who works incredibly hard and plays his ass off.
I didnt see anyone ripping him. But talent to talent...thats a mismatch

Oh man, how true this is. Absolutely crazy.
