"No more being modest. I am ready to let the world know how great I am" Fab Melo via fb.

I didn't realize he was being modest last season.

Anyway at least he is expecting t be good and has some confidence. It still needs to transfer to the court against some real competition, but I am optimistic.

same guy who said he didnt ask to be ranked so high and didnt know why there was so many expectations

Ya i didnt know he was being modest either:confused: i guess i didnt know how awesome i am either :rolling:

I'm fine with Fab posting something like that on his personal facebook. Like to see that attitude from him. He has the tools and all the potential in the world. Yes, he needed a year to become acclimated to big time college basketball (and basketball in general)...I'm not gonna hate on him for being a little brash and setting some personal goals on his facebook account...not like he's bashing anyone else in the process or even saying something like this in response to a reporter's questioning...

Im not hating on him i just thought it was funny he blamed it on being modest, being overweight and out of shape must be the new definition of modesty.

yeah, the whole "modest" thing is kinda odd...but I'll chalk that up to not knowing any better cause he's foreign (ie, not knowing athletes don't say that kind of stuff, or it just sounds strange & like he's way too into himself)

Dumb. Players that use "I" usually flame out.

Speaking of the court...am I going color blind or are we playing on new hardwood? Color looks very different to me...

I think what he really means to imply is that he is going to show the world what ability he has due to being in shape and having a year of experience under his belt. I dont think he means that he has this innate greatness that he is only now willfully manifesting for the entertainment of his audience.

I'm all for confidence and being cocky, but when you're that good other people are the ones that point it out. Hopefully just a case of immaturity.

...now if he plays within the team concept that will be terrific...don't mind the Is that play within the parameters of the team...its those other Is we have problems with

Experts doubting the number 4 team the deepest one in the country can beat st rose by 4. And now people knocking on Melo over one confidence quote crazy day.

Fab plays team basketball if we haven't noticed. He was out there running pics fighting to get rebounds, bumping in the paint, hustling to block shots, shooting jump shots, making his foul shots, going up for a strong dunk off a double team rebound, and almost took a charge or two with no whistle of course.

All that frustration from last year and the kid has the game of his life and we are knocking on him for confidence? What are we the unathletic boring basketball capital of the world? Would we have knocked James southerland if he said that after his first exhibition against Cal State a few years ago? Would you knock on a confident Amare Stoudalmire, Dwight Howard, or Kevin Garnett had they spent a year here to?

What do we want 5 equal players on the floor taking the same amount of shots every game screaming one two three teamwork every play? Does our point guard have to yell thets do it together or Go team Go everytime he calls a play for us also.

Did anyone see Kemba put Uconn on his back last year? Yeah he was alittle bit arrogant but he knew how to win. Didn't know we were in the buisness for chastising confident all americans. Not talking to anyone in specific just giving my view.

Please remember that english is a second language and that he is a kid. I am more concerned about grown ups "friending" young people who they have never met.
