Didn't work so well on the old black and white film (or occasionally black and white TV). On lots of those old film clips--and I'm talking about the '50's, not the '20's--it's near impossible to distinguish the teams.

But yes, now there is the option of having both teams sporting their schools' signature color.

Is that legal? (I already know the answer.) The human species so loves to have fun at other species' expense. My daughter enjoys stuffing her cat into a lobster costume for Halloween.

Oh, the uniforms! The more color the better, and longtimefan's post explained why the white jerseys came to be. Duhhh, of course! I believe I saw a game last year where the Portland Ducks wore all green and the other team wore yellow. Maybe I made that up, but it was a delight to the senses!

My rule regarding retros: It should be a uniform people remember and remember fondly. That one, (and those dud the Eagles wore a few years back because it was their original uniforms), fail that test miserably.
