With Nolte as a coach. Seems so typical and obvious things like this go on all the time.

Am I naive?

perhaps.

But I commend Boeheim for achieving what he has without being dirty.

Apparently, very naive. Don't pull on that thread.

what do we give these kids, Happy, houses? tractors? we gave a kid a tractor? bags of cash? whatever they want we give 'em... There's Happy running to the ATM, he's getting the best recruits money can buy!

Love that movie!

One thing I never understood were the big recruits in the movie.

Shaq? You bet.
Penny? Sure.
Matt Nover? Huh? Dude had the charisma of a stale cardboard box.

See what a tractor and gym bag full of cash gets you.

Bobby Hurley playing for Indiana was always weird for me.
I get UCLA not wanting the attachment as Western but the Sam Gilbert-John Wooden connections are why they didn’t want that.
But Western is supposed to be UCLA.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Kevin Bacon was in A Few Good Men with JT Walsh.
JT Walsh was in Blue Chips with James Arthur Boeheim.

I got one even closer: Kevin Bacon was in Tremors. I watched Tremors. Boom!

Bob Cousy = the only adult in the movie who wasn't shady.

And I remember being so confused by Al Bundy as a reporter when I saw this movie at age 12.
