Something I find really weird is that McCord was in a lot of NFL top 100 players for the draft lists before the season. Now he aggregates out to 223rd. I know Jrs that come out cause guys to drop- but over 100 spots? That seems like a massive drop.

How did McCord become a LESS ATTRACTIVE draft prospect with his play this year?
I think the Pitt game really hurt him.

He didn't win the national championship.

General feeling there is that were a bunch Rutgers Al type delusional tools that have badly underestimated their juggernaut in Pullman.
Generally, most of our fans are currently on suicide watch, so not sure we perceive the Cougs as a overpowering team. That said, I do think that many fans blamed the late game (particularly the last 3) issues on our departed OC, now RB coach is also gone, and our backup O play caller followed our OC, we will be down 4 coaches so far (DC was fired and rightfully so). Our HC will be the DC, but no clue what the O will look like.

Two good receivers hit the portal, and a couple secondary pieces, but so far, no real high impact portal losses. The starting RB we lost to the portal was a talented freshman, but struggled with pass plays, and seemed to get dinged up a lot. We at least have depth there and WR. If Mateer stays that will help, especially if he is let off the leash a bit. He has accounted for 44 TD's this year to lead all of FBS.

Our DL is not great in the old scheme, but not sure what the HC will do other that he states he is going to "unleash" them. Secondary is opportunistic, LB has been not great. While we have lost 4 games, we did have a couple decent wins again Texas Tech and UW, other than that we hated our schedule, and lost bad late to Boise on the road. Overall, we have quick strike ability, but little answer to ball control running teams.

Thanks for this insight and welcome to our board.

Maybe it is because he didn't beat Michigan again this year. That is the only way you can judge how good a QB is, right?

Thanks for posting this.

My condolences to you and the rest of the Washington State fan base for what happened to the PAC 12 in general and the 2 schools left alone after the music stopped.

i’m not sure a lot of our fans understand Washington State was once 8-1 this season, and very much in the mix for a college playoff spot.

Mateer is a freak athlete. If he plays, which at this point appears to be a given (he reportedly has received
a lot of NIL money recently towards that end), his presence should ensure his team puts up a lot of points.

One thing, Syracuse has done extremely well this year is control the ball and control time of possession. That could be the determining factor in this game.

if you like high scoring games, the Holiday Bowl this year should be enjoyable to watch.
