Niagara stinks, but this kid needs to play at LEAST 20 minutes per game.

EDIT: Only 8 players in D1 since 2010-11 (nearly a decade) have put together that stat line:

Ben Simmons (1st Round NBA Pick - LSU)
DeAndre Bembry (1st Round NBA Pick - St. Joe's)
Marcus Smart (1st Round NBA Pick - Okla. State)
Chris Singleton (1st Round NBA Pick - Florida State)
Delon Wright (1st Round NBA Pick - Utah)
Phlandrous Fleming (Charleston Southern - Big South Defensive Player of the Year)
Michael Weathers (Miami OH - MAC Freshman of Year; Transfer to Okla. State, now at Texas Southern)
Stan Okoye (VMI - Big South Player of the Year)

Start him

I'd imagine that Joe is hearing footsteps [as hard to envision as that might have been heading into the season].

Really, what a difference having a kid who is actually a point guard and sees the floor like one, instead of those combos we're always trying to convert.

Richmond has some holes in his game [outside shooting appears suspect at this stage], but he's going to play. A lot.

Joe can do a lot of damage as an elite shooter off the bench. I’m really curious how JB handles it... it seems so obvious

He is not an elite shooter. Please, please, please let's stop pretending he is.

I will say, JB does him no favors playing him so much. He's not built for it nor has the ability for it. He needs more catch and shoots (off the ball playing w/ Kadary as the main ball handler for example) and less time. His off the dribble shots are not good decisions.

He absolutely is in spurts. If he played 18mpg and picked his spots his 3p% would skyrocket

Has to play...its so obvious to see how much we have missed a point guard playing point guard. He makes things happen/can take guys off the dribble and has great vision. Another big takeaway was his size/athleticism on defense. He had at least 2 (maybe 3) blocked shots at the top of the zone as well as getting some steals/deflections. Really like his play even if it was against a awful Niagara team. Woody also showed some nice stuff tonight. He looks promising.

He is an elite scorer. Last year he was more GMAC size this year he came in way too heavy. He needs to play into shape and he will be ok. Let's not dump the kid after a couple rough games in a pandemic year. We will need him. JB knows that the kid needs to get himself going. Joe is frustrated now but it will only take one game and he will be back.
