Was bored and had a look at the minutes for recruits rated somewhat comparably to Kadary in the 24* ratings. From what I can see and anyone who looks rationally, Kadary got more minutes than most and far more than those closer to his #89 rating. Draw what ever conclusion you want but kadary played plenty. If he wanted a guaranteed 35+ minutes then good luck elsewhere.

Guess we should’ve kept him around 8 minutes a game. Jim did Kadary a huge favor. What a nice guy.

Very interesting. This is with both starting guards returning last year. How could he expect more minutes.

yep he shouldn't have expected more. I also noticed a lot of these kids in this range are transferring. Hard to keep everyone happy

I'm not sure that has anything to do with the stats I posted but keep going

Dont have time to look up everyone else on that list. But when Kadary excels over the starter at everything except shooting (and I already know another smart Alex response that is coming), I understand his displeasure. I don’t know how those other situations stack up. But with my own eyes, there was 0 reason why joe was getting so much time over Kadary. And it’s strange that at the end of the year when we went on our little run; there was 2 players that miraculously started to get more minutes.

How many of those other kids were playing behind a starter significantly worse at one or more parts of the expectations of the position?
I don't know and will not be examining each roster to come up with the answer. How many of those that played more played for teams that didnt even sniff the post season. If Kadary was smart he would have had realistic expectations. He's good but he's not top 30 good. Good luck to him elsewhere. If this was the worst adversity he had to overcome he's in for a charmed life.

When you’re talking about someone’s future and potential millions of dollars then it is an issue, especially when anybody with eyes, a computer, and common sense can see who should be starting and getting the much higher amount of minutes.

He wanted what he earned. To start

24 of the 42 listed were on tourney teams and a couple of those listed are playing pro so it's well over 50% ... he deserved to start, period.

Kadary wanted to start. My guess is that JB told him that might or might not happen but that he would be sharing time with JG.

He was getting almost equal time towards the end of the season when he wasn't hurt. But, he wants to start because in his mind he needs that to get to the pros in another year.

Seems we had a pretty good player, not that many years ago, that didn't start, but made it into the pros with his play.

Seems "I made the better player come off the bench behind a weaker player once before and he was a lottery pick, so let's make you come off the bench behind a weaker player too and see what happens," wasn't very convincing for Kadary. Consider me shocked.

Pretty slick how JB made sure he didn’t need to have the same conversation with his backup shooting guard.

The hyperbole over Kadary’s talents is absurd. He was a promising player on a mediocre team in a down year for the ACC. He wasn’t the second coming of Michael Jordan, or someone who could take over a game and score in bunches. I’m not a savant but to me his quote suggests he didn’t want to play a complicated defense. Fair enough, for years the point has been made that the zone doesn’t help you get to the NBA.
Boeheim has won over 1k games, been to multiple Final Fours, won a national and several Olympic titles. He’s got some warts but the brickbats being thrown today (which by the way totally ignore the impact of COVID on the team and individual players) are just crazy.

If you’re comparing him to Jordan, you didn’t understand what position he actually plays

Did you watch Kentucky this year? They need any warm bodies they can find, preferably someone who can shoot.
I bet they’ll be better than us next year though like they usually are.
