Why would the guy let Boeheim's foolishness affect his assessment?

Boeheim has absolutely nothing to do with Katz's foolishness.

Just sucking up. He's obviously desperate to get back into JB's good graces.

Probably hedging his bets too. Whether it's for money or just so you can look like you know what you're doing, everyone loves winning a bracket. So I often pick teams I hate to go far. If they lose, great. If they win, well, there's that.

Well the thing is, they are in such a crappy bracket. Can you really see Gonzaga or Ohio State emerging out of that bracket? Or Kansas State? Or Wisconsin? Or Arizona?

Honestly, Pitt has almost as good a chance as anyone to come out of that bracket as an 8-seed. It's such a bad region.

That's flat out wrong. Pitt doesn't have as a good a chance as anyone...unlike everyone else they have to overcome being Pitt. They have no chance at making the final four.
