Keep an eye on Amato

Im not sure if Daoust is a possiblity. He would be my #1 if so.
Where exactly does the Daoust love come from? In his time here we have proven that we can't stop any type of spread offense with athletes at our level other than ones run by Geno Smith. In fact any remotely competent offense usually blows us out. Our secondary gives up at least 4 or 5 plays where they look completely lost. Our line backers look generally out of position unless they are blitzing. He has recruited the current db law who seem constantly over matched. Our blitz scheme has gotten less and less sophisticated since shafer became HC. We generally have the worst form on tackling that I have seen. We get more penalties than the buffalo bills. We never ever ever can get of the field on 3rd and longs.

I don't see why all the clamor to keep a dc who has proven nothing.

Ive been to many clinics and had many talks with good coaches. daoust is one of the fews coaches that really has my attention the whole time. His techniques and schemes makes alot of sense and he is a relentless worker. Thats hard to find. I believe that transitions well into a DC role.

Umm...the OP also started a thread a couple days ago where he said he heard an Amato for HC rumor, then later posted this. I assume he's just trolling everyone...again

Daoust is the D-line coach first of all, and the D-line has been really good this year despite depth issues and youth. Maybe you should know who/what you're talking about before posting ignorance in here.

And despite the fact that we lost 8 seniors on defense after last season, people like you seem to think the staff that fielded the #26 defense in the country the year before somehow forgot how to coach defense.

Haha. Ya. I'm not disputing any of that but he kind of admitted to making up an Amato rumor a couple days ago to mess with the board. Kind of makes you question if this new rumor about the same exact guy is legitimate

Old Chuck would be interesting. At first I just thought of an old ball coach wearing sun glasses and just couldn't see it. Amato has done well at Akron the last few years as people have stated already with esp. the run defense but he has given up yards through the air. He could provide a coach that could essentially be the HC for the defense so Babers could just focus on the offense for the next couple of years. Also, as someone else said, he's been around the ACC schools. Interesting thought as Amato as the DC and possible Associate Head Coach type. He could be a transition DC and then go into reitrement. Interesting thought that initially I dismissed quickly.
