I think if we had highly rated guys that the current staff had recruited, we likely wouldn't have gone that route. Certainly, Martin was a unique circumstance that we'll never see again.

And yet, they helped/are helping to fill a needed role. To say we don't want any 'outsiders' is puzzling, at best.

I think that was in reference to qb, since the poster listed the two we have waiting in the wings currently learning the system.

As far as other grad transfers, did we already have other highly rated guys at those other positions? I think Dino would rather get his guys straight out of high school but filled holes on a subpar roster while working on getting it where it needs to be. I imagine we'll see less of it as he continues to upgrade recruiting and as the young guys he's already brought in mature.

There is room for a 1 and done in the mix with how much eligibility Amie and Devito have but you have to pull the plug early if KB struggles. I wouldn't mind an older and bigger dual threat on the roster.

What a slap in the face that would be to Clemson to have him in Syracuse and have to play him next season.

Im guessing Frost at Nebraska has already scheduled a visit. That would be a perfect fit for him.

Totally different scenario, I am referring to our qbs only, I should have clarified. We are strong there and I like the guys we already have. Of course I want transfers in areas of need.

I could see him looking at NC State. With Finley graduating, they could be in dire need of a very well-rounded quarterback.

He isnt gonna go to a place like NCST and have to challenge defenses like Clemson, FSU, VT, etc. A G5 landing is probably appealing and the best path to the league. Strength of opponent has less value than5, 10, 20 years ago as these kids prove their game against all of D1

We aren't the school for him even if he wants to play the same teams he played at Clemson (with a less loaded roster) you couldn't bring him in without pretty much promising him the job. But its the other stuff more than the skillset. Devito is good enough that Dino can only give KB a 50-50 shot of starting can't offer him the job he wouldn't consider us seriously.
