In analyzing Kenpom's statistics, it is quite intriguing that statistically speaking our offensive and defensive efficiency (plus/minus) is virtually the same as last year. Last year we finished ranked 6th in Kenpom, and this year we are 7th. While our offense is 5 points less efficient than last year, our defense is 5 more points efficient.
While last years team may have produced more exciting basketball, this team has shown that it can be as good as the team last year, albeit by playing a different style. While defense may not be sexy or exciting, you cannot argue with its effectiveness.
