Back in 1999 The Duke Blue Devil's had it all, powerful big man, strong power forwards, great point guard play, very good outside shooting, tremendous pressure defense and depth. McDonald's All American's as far as the eye could see.
Dick Vitale was dizzy with Duke love, he was "Duke Drunk". Dickie went as far as to say that his beloved Devil's could beat some NBA teams. Dukie V wasn't the only talking head who felt that way. Some even suggested why play the tournament?
Then, along came Jim Calhoun with a game plan and poof, all of that blather went down the toilet. The Huskies with chubby point guard El Amin, took down the mighty Duke dynasty.
Sure Kentucky with a starting five who might give the Raptors a game (highly doubtful, the pros have better steroids)) seem like the best thing since sliced bread. Some people are forgetting that Kentucky and their ringleader John Calipari just fell to Vanderbilt who fell to Wisconsin who we are going to play us starting at 7:15 PM this coming Thursday in Boston Massachusetts.
Could Jim Boeheim in 2012 come up with a game plan like his best buddy did in 1999 and shock the basketball world? First things first, the Badgers are up next on the horizon and that's the only concern we have at this moment.
