In the pre-conference schedule the Wildcats were blowing people's doors off like Florida State's football team did last year. In the conference season they've been like this year's Florida State football team, barely scraping by but finding ways to win.

They are a good team that is hyped up because they had a bunch of future NBA first round picks but outside of Wily Cauley-Stein they are underclassmen and the hype is unwarranted.

While they've struggled the last 2 games, I think the hype is very warranted. Unbeaten, won every game by double figures (other than 8 point win against Ville), beat KU, Tex, UCLA and Louisville. That's pretty impressive if you ask me. And I loathe UK and Calipari.

Yeah if FSU had beaten Oregon, Michigan State, etc before the ACC slate it'd be different.

UCLA sucks, the Kansas win was impressive. At Louisville was a struggle. The rest of their games have been at home. Playing UK at Rupp is like playing Duke at Cameron it takes a perfect game to beat them
At home.
Kentucky has struggled in both of its road games. If they played in B12/ACC/B1G/BE they would lose a road game.

UK's gaurs prospects aren't scary thus if they are zoned they can be beaten. The hype they get is crazy they aren't anymore scary than the 05 UNC or 08 KU teams but because those teams played in tough conferences with road venues they lost games. UK is a favorite to win the NC but this team isn't better than their 2012 team with Anthony Davis which had upper class men.

FSU (in my opinion) was the 6th best team in the country this year behind Bama, Oregon, TCU, Ohio State and Baylor. While Kentucky certainly hasn't looked unbeatable recently, I think they are clearly the #1 team in America with Duke a respectable second.

My point was that Kentucky this year has looked like Flordia State last year and now they look like Florida State this year.

They beat Ville pretty solidly. Struggling on the road against a top 5 team isn't horrible, especially when you win by 8.

And Devin Booker is a pretty decent 3 pt shooter. Harrison and Ulis can also knock them down. Just because they've played a couple close games doesn't mean they haven't met or exceeded the hype. And this team has plenty of sophs and Jr's who have logged minutes. Just because you don't like them is no reason to dismiss how good they've been to this point.

I'm not dismissing what they did earlier. But did anyone expect them to struggle to beat Mississippi and Texas A&M?

SWC your point made sense to me.

No, of course not. And I'm not disagreeing with your original post. I was responding to Alsacs saying they haven't been all they've been cracked up to be. I think they are clearly the best team in cbb. Duke (who I believe to be the 2nd best team) lost at NC St. today, so crazy things do happen. UK #1, Duke a rung below them at #2 and then everyone else, in my opinion.

I dont understand why people keep saying they killed the pre conference schedule. I saw a media person tweet something similar yesterday.

They crushed Kansas who temple also beat by 35 and UCLA who wont make the tournament

They were losing at halftime to 3 teams i believe (including buffalo?!)

They barely beat columbia, they couldnt put away louisville or texas. They had a huge 1st half lead against a very streaky UNC team who made a nice run at them in the 2nd half.

If you want to go pre-pre-conference, they lost in the bahamas and struggled in another game or 2 there.

They have a excellent defense. But they struggle to put the ball in the hoop. They are going to lose a game or 2, even in the SEC.
