It's ot a recruitimg violation. Much as it pains me to say it, props to Kentucky for getting themselves the exposure.

Rules change. This does not do anything to promote academics or any athletic competition other than Kentucky's. The fact that Calipari actually sought out ESPN is even worse.

If SU did this I would be ashamed and embarrassed. If they did it locally and put it on local TV it would be cool, but these cheap national media attention-seeking tricks are on the level of car salesmen.
