Coach Autry’s radio show is on Thursdays, (Wednesdays until the Dino Babers Show ends) from 7-8:30PM on ESPN Radio in Syracuse, which is AM1200 or FM 97.7 on the dial. The show is at Carrabba's Italian Grill at 550 Towne Drive, Fayetteville, NY. The first hour, hosted by Matt Park, the Voice of the Orange, is on their general network. They are again doing a third half hour segment on Twitch: I think I will save myself some time by posting the main show and linking the Twitch segment the next day when it shows up on You-Tube.

Their schedule: AmeriCU Adrian Autry Radio Show Starts Nov. 14 - Syracuse University Athletics

You can call into the show locally at 315-424-8599 or nationally at 1-888-746-2873. For Gomez’s portion, use 315-424-8599. Or you can submit questions from this page:
Submit a Question! - Syracuse University Athletics The choice, finally is the “Adrian Autry Show” or the “Fran Brown Show”!
Or on Twitter at x.com or Twitter (@CuseLearfield) using the hashtag #AskAutry.

The show can be heard in Syracuse on FM 99.5. It’s sometimes simulcast on AM 1200 or FM 97.7. You can also get it on: TuneIn | Free Internet Radio | Live News, Sports, Music, Audiobooks, and Podcasts If not, try: https://cuse.com/watch?Live=6575&type=Live

MY QUESTIONS/COMMENTS

“Coach, when you went to the locker room down 26 to Maryland, you were fuming, as shown in the brief interview you did at that time. Matt Park said he expected you to give a halftime speech that would “peel the paint off the walls”. We came out for the second half and gave up a lay-up, missed a shot, didn’t get the rebound and gave up a dunk. It was the start of a 2-10 run. Do your players listen to you? Does the team have leaders they will listen to?”

The Twitch Segment:

There won’t be one until January.

Bold question.

Not listening tonight, but I assume he’ll give his typical broad ramble as an answer. I’ve listened to the last few shows and never feel Red says anything of much substance.

I also notice he tends to focus on the first part of your question. So he’ll talk about the halftime speech in a general sense and brush over the latter part of the question. Will be curious to hear what his response was.

He didn't mention his halftime speech at all. I would like to have know, in general terms, what he said. He wants the fans to get off his player's backs.

I appreciate the sentiment from Red I suppose, but I'm not sure the NIL era is the time for asking fans to get off your players back. I have no problem with the players getting compensation, but with that comes criticism when you don't do your job well.

There's a sense that Syracuse basketball is and has been soft. The types of answers he gives reinforce that feeling in my mind.

Yeah, that landed better before NIL. Now it sounds like pay me and then shut up.

exactly, especially when the fans are paying the NIL, the most ridiculous model ever

I'm supposed to, out of loyalty to the program, call in and wish Coach Autry success the rest of the season? That's it?
Sort of a stacked deck, talent issue, IMO. That's all. I honestly just hope we can develop and stick together. Fight for each other at this point.

We have some talent players, even with JJ out. What worries me is the horrendous starts to each half. He isn't telling them to play that way. Have they tuned Red out?

Just my opinion, massive talent, depth issue, especially in the back court. I do not think they’ve turned them out. I just don’t think that we are capable specifically defensively. We need more than one penetrator who can dish the ball. We don’t have that.

Why the ghastly starts to each half? Why the coach's anger after the Cornell game and at the half vs. Maryland. He's not frustrated with the talent level, (which does have it's limits). He's angry with the degree of effort. But it doesn't seem to change anything.

The lack of easy points are killing this team. No fast breaks and no steals. Add to that a stagnant offense and thus it's a battle to put the ball in the basket.

What ever happened to grab a rebound and an outlet pass? It's almost like watching the players being forced to move in certain spots like one of those hockey table top games. Cuff seems to be the only one that sprints down the court and is active on O.
