They are beatable come tourny time. They tend to have lapses on defense in all the 5 games ive watched. They have inexperienced key players who have no tourny experience in teague , davis and lamb. i like how we match up against them and our zone will cause havoc like they never seen before with our current crop of players defending it.

The one thing with kentucky as with all Calipari coached teams is they are generally young and inexperienced (mostly Fr and SOs). So, usually his teams can collapse come tourney time towards the final rounds. It will be a key factor if we both get to the championship.

Experience is so overrated especially when Syracuse fans bring it up as a point against UK. Like our experience losing in the S16 and Round of 32 the last two years is going to help us win a championship.

Ya know, most strong willed people learn from their mistakes and work hard to make sure the next time they are in the same situation they will succeed.

What amazed me was watching Anthony Davis jogging down the court as Florida was in transition. At least 3 times AD was behind and they dump it inside to Young or Murphy. I like to see if AD can keep up with our transition. Would be interesting!!

Well, when you have a bunch of fresh and sophs that havent really dealt with many close games or much adversity. Compared to guys like kjo and scoop who have been doing this for 4 yrs and have been through the good and bad times. IE the loss to butler a few yrs back. Im sure that sticks in both of their minds and all this experience helps keep them level headed come tourney time. Fresh and sophs are more prone to mental errors when theyre on the big stage.

The only thing that will really hurt UK is playing in the very weak SEC all season. Not one really good team in there (sans UK of course). Very, very weak defensive league. It will be interesting to see how UK responds when they go up against a team that really plays tight, aggressive defense. A strong, experienced team like Marquette could be a nightmare matchup for UK.

No team in college hoops is unbeatable. Since the NCAA expanded the tourney to 64 teams in 1985, 34 schools have entered the tournament with two losses or less and only four have gone on to win the championship. Most of those schools that have rolled through the regular season, like Ohio State and Kansas did last season, have failed to reach the Final Four. And every one of those teams that has entered the Big Dance with only one loss has lost.

The tourney has been more unpredictable than ever in recent years and my only concern right now is seeing the Cuse buck this trend and advance to New Orleans.

Go Cuse!

Davis is so much better than anyone on our team..that in and of itself makes Kentucky a slight favorite. I'll take talent over experience any day. (remember that frosh in 2003?)

This is more what I was getting at. Regular freshman, sure the experience might matter. But UK is full of guys who will be stars in the NBA.

They have davis who is more of a defensive beast, which is huge but their pg is a frosh and nowhere near the talent of davis. Ill question his poise , decision making and leadership come tourny time until he proves otherwise , teague that is. terrence has disappeared in games as well. I like our chances but lets get there first.

I honestly don't think Kentucky has anybody on their team that will be legitimate stars in the NBA. Davis will likely be their best player, and he could make an all-star game or 2, but I don't think he'll ever be an All-NBA kinda guy.

And I like the way we match up against Kentucky. However, we obviously have to make it that far first, which is easier said than done. We've had so many close games this season after starting out the year blowing every team out of the water. I'm a little nervous, but we'll see.

Davis is not a scorer like Anthony. I would love to see UK in the finals against SU, but I don't think they get there.

Maybe, but a young Kevin Garnett only averaged 10 and 6 his rookie year. Just sayin'.

Davis has to gain weight. I would also love to see how his blocking ability is effected when he does gain 20 or 30 lbs.

If you actually watch Davis play, one could argue that he is underutilized in that offense. The guy could score 20 a night if they needed him to. The guy has a good handle, a very smooth stroke from outside, and he has nice post moves. The guy was a guard until recently. Im pretty sure that if Cal wanted to run the offense heavily through him, he would be a much, much bigger scorer.

He also has great defensive instincts and he is one of the few people in modern times that actually blocks shots and keeps them in play, rather than swatting them into the third row for effect, yet giving possession back to the other team.

make no mistake about it, this guy is THE reason why Kentucky is a threat. honestly without him, I wouldnt even be worried about that team.

SU would need to attack Wiltjer when he is in the game. He was getting abused by Eric Murphy. woof.

He has a tendency to move both feet before the first dribble but I have not seen it called.

Agree with Albanycuse regarding Teague at pg. I've said previously that he is the weakest link in their team. I think our guards can totally frustrate him into bad decisions. Davis you Might slowdown, but you won't stop him. He is capable of playing outside as well as inside even though I'd rather see him away from the boards. For me K-G is the player who can be the difference maker even if we can keep it even with the other four.

didn't we win a national championship with a pretty young team, minus kueth

I agree! I think if it was an up and down game , AD would get tired and be less effective. When Florida started beating Kent down court , Calamari called a timeout and slowed the game down. Most people think the way to beat Kent is slow it down and get them in a half court game but in reality, it is just the opposite. They are only 6 deep, a team that can run with them could eventually out man them. SU and North Carolina can both beat them.
