Yet their average attendance is 22,652? Um... somebody is bad at math.

in all honesty what does it say about a program when it has to cheat at attendance figures so it can claim a attendance title it never earned or deserved -

so i guess in the real world of facts- syracuse is has been and always will be the best fan base

Kentucky is now claiming to be undefeated and asked ESPN if they will help them prove it with an "Outside the Lines" episode.

Seriously, if people really think these players at Kentucky actually do their school work and NEVER have grade problems...I have a bridge to sell you. If they would actually try something this blatant like fudging the attendance numbers, what really goes on behind the scenes must really be corrupt.

so really the story says everyone does it this way except some only report actual scan numbers without really finding out who . really lazy story to not bother to get real details from other top 4-5 attendance schools and see how they do it to see if it really matters in the race for #1. SU adds media people but do they add the workers cause that is a huge number in the bldg like ours?

SU announces all tickets sold regardless of how many come. Sometimes it is laughable. But clearly, we will win the trophy this year for attendance.

We said there were 25,850 on Monday. In reality it was about 21. Happens everywhere.

I was always under the impression that using tickets sold is the standard throughout college sports, regardless of how many show.

Wasn't aware of counting media as well, as stated in this article.

But estimating in a count of vendors, security guards, etc. is really taking it too far.

Su should invite the SU football team , SU boys/girls lacrosse teams, and girls basketball every game so they can add an extra 100 or so people. They can sit in the back signing autographs before and at halftime. SO they count now!

Well everyone counts tickets sold not actual attendance but what about Kentucky adding 20% to it for their numbers? That would be always be a minimum of 4,000 added attendance at SU beyond season ticket sales. We could have added 7000 for the Duke game following their procedure? Ok, we had over 43, 000 for that game -lol.
