Kevin Rice Named to Capital One Academic All-America First Team

Kevin Rice continues to epitomize what it means to be a student-athlete at Syracuse University.

The star attackman became the second player in the history of the Orange men's lacrosse program to earn first-team national Academic All-America honors when he was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America At-Large First Team on Thursday, June 11.

Rice joins Mike Leveille (2008) as the only first-team Capital One Academic All-Americans in team history. A second-team selection in 2014, Rice is the second Orange player earn multiple Capital One Academic All-America awards. John Galloway was a two-time, second-team honoree in 2010 and 2011.

Kevin had a heck of a career on the field and in the classroom. Not bad for a late signee, and almost afterthought. Kudos to him, we will miss him next year.
