I know a bit random but does anyone have any insight on who our kick and punt returners will be? With Sean Riley graduated, who is poised?

would love to see Trill get a chance to return some kicks. Maybe Jawhar Jordan?

Pierre has done a good job on kickoff returns when given the chance too.

I think it will be Jordan for KOs and Trill for punts. But there are a lot of guys who could do a good job returning kickoffs.
Every time Trill gets his hands on the ball you know he knows exactly what to do. He’d be the closest we’ll come to Brisly days returning punts as possible. Just uncanny playmaking ability.

Thats why I dont think Jordan returns
On kickoff returns Jordan on one side, Tucker on the other. Need our speed guys to have good field position, or chance to go all the way.

If one gets hurt we lose at least a quarter of our remaining playable RB’s assuming Howard and Adams are out

How fast is trill? Is he 4.5? Love Jordan and trill but would hate to see them take big hits and risk injury. 2 of our biggest impact players potentially.

Pena, Jackson, Johnson, Atkinson

i dont want either one returning anything with our depth issues.. we have 5-6 WRs in the 2-3 deep use them.

I hope it's Jordan for kick offs. Guys are more likely to be lit up on a punt return than a kick off. Jordan has a better chance to make big plays on kick offs than on running plays. We've seen how special teams plays can change games in the past. I want who is likely our most explosive player doing them. I miss the Qadry Ismail and Kevin Johnson days.

Sub 4.5

The reason to have Jordan and Tucker is to prevent what Satterfield, the Louisvile coach did. After 3 kicks to Jordan he started kicking short to the opposite side of the field. Smart move on his part, don't want to see that this year.

Wish we had a couple more speed freaks on the roster but, I would go with the quicker/compact slot guys.
Jackson
Lutz
Pena

Peña and Lutz ARE fast.
Both track guys in HS.

Peña was a return guy in HS too, so he’s got experience.

IF depth could be an issue for us re: starters, then I’d rather that Jawhar & Trill both stick to their day jobs, and let guys like Peña or Lutz handle return duties.
They’ve got the wheels, and if they do get an “owie” it doesn’t screw up our starting O or D.

Both of those guys - Lutz in particular - are a lot more solidly built than Sean Riley was, especially as an underclassman -
He looked like an 8th grader had suited up and snuck into the field. :p

Hope you're right. Just meant I wish we had another couple of guys like we talk about like Jordan. Maybe I'm being greedy...

Sure. I'm just hoping Jordan is one of the guys back there. With us probably losing two RBs to opt outs, I hope that doesn't keep him out of kickoffs.
