Momentum for the D if you hit it. They were a 3rd and long from getting the ball back to tie. Hit the FG your driving for a win.

I think a bigger blunder was not getting their TE Evans involved in 1st-2nd quarter on short/medium safety routes...Also not trying at all to give Love the ball at all was bad.

Just a mind boggling decision. Posted this in the CFB Playoff/defacto game thread:

The more I think about it, the less it makes sense. You’re down 16 at OSU’s 9 yd line. You know you need 2 TDs. If they hit the FG, they’d still need 2 TDs.

By kicking, you’re betting on your D. Aren’t you betting on them more by going for the TD? Whether you turnover on downs or take the FG, you’re still down 2 TDs. You’re basically just giving ND the ball on the 25 (had they hit the FG) rather than the 9. Basically, being down 13 is no different than being down 16. The fact that they stopped OSU so quickly only further highlights the stupidity.
