Klubnik: WAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

If you don't like Dabo, it's certainly not because you don't think he can coach and build a program. You just don't like his boy scout, true blue, gee whiz, old school principled demeanor.
Just like most of our opponents aren't going to like Fran's demeanor.
It comes with the territory called "winning."
Dabos the man.. klubnick is a little 🐈 *meow*

I thought Dabo’s postgame comments were very complimentary of Syracuse by a coach whose team REALLY needed the win. We hurt them. Dabo, the players, the coaches, the fans, the university, and Clemson’s fans in sports media. We really hurt them on several levels. SU beating them at home in a game they really needed and wanted was and is painful. They need the bye week now more than most. That really sweetens the victory…for me at least. Good for you, coach Fran…

Imagine the crying done if Clemson played Tennessee. That game was almost as long without the lightening delay due to TN lying down on defense every 3 plays

Folks, I remember a lot of SU fans making this same complaint about our opponents during the "Fast is the new Orange" days.
Fans for sure. That’s what we do.
He is the definition of a spoiled baby. He got his ass kicked. Move on you loser but show some respect to the team who kicked it

Yeah casting blame to national media is a bad idea, and it’s not just sportsmanship. You know how AA is famous for the whole “first, admit it” stuff?

“They had injuries that slowed us down” comes from a completely different place than “I can work on keeping momentum through stoppages.”

Sometimes injuries are real, sometimes it’s a TV timeout. Could be an issue getting players onfield or a replay review. The ability to withstand getting iced is a core competency in football. And now that he’s publicly admitted it as a weakness that he doesn’t seem eager to work on, you can bet the rest of the Clemson schedule will take notice.

So happy we beat these jerks. The coverage during the game was sickening -- a Clemson infomercial practially from beginning to end. The announcers came around -- eventually -- but I am so sick of hearing about how Klubnik was a Heisman contender, the speech Dabo gave this week.

To hell with that entire program / entitled fanbase.
I can't agree with this. They didn't come around. At the end of the game they were talking about how Dabo would deal with this loss. I was screaming at the tv..how about the team that actually you know, won the game!!!

I think Clemson fans are a bit like our basketball-only crowd. Generally friendly and good sports, a couple bad apples, but the outward perception can dwell on the overly high expectations that come from not having enough bad seasons to keep you grounded.
Our experience in Clemson was different. The tailgate was fantastic, welcoming and very accommodating to our SU crew of 15 or so. However, the vast majority Clemson fans were arrogantly dismissive. Not necessarily impolite just completely ignoring and almost like we weren’t even there. It was odd.

Seating, I had a Clemson lifer, Bill, sitting next to me and he was as nice of a guy as you could meet. Super guy.

However, many of the other fans around were far less hospitable. A guy behind me poured beer down my leg. A small group of Syracuse fans about a dozen seats down from us had popcorn thrown at them for the 1st half and a ‘bubba’ egging them into confrontation (they did not bite). After the rain delay the boo birds really got going, calling me the A$$hole for Some of the dubious reffing calls (that lady was a real treat). We fully understood we were in the belly of the beast, we were not antagonizing anyone. They just didn’t like that we actually had the nerve to cheer for our team.

You could tell the younger generation of Clemson fans who had not experienced the down years were far less hospitable than the older fans who knew our pain and understood the excitement of watching a program turn around.

That is an awesome photo. Lots of posters here have been telling very positive stories about interactions with Clemson fans. I admit, I've said I've hated Clemson more times that I can count, but that probably came from jealousy. Dabo can be irritating some times, but it's clear he is loyal to the program and it seems like his players love and respect him like our guys love and respect Fran.

Klubnik leaning on the fake injuries thing seems like a hurt, frustrated, and embarrassed kid looking for an excuse to cover up all those feelings.

To be fair, he has a point. It seems to happen every single college game now. I was screaming at the Tennessee guys down in Atlanta for doing the same thing. It's pretty obvious when it's going on, and really freaking annoying.
My neighbor and I were talking about how to prevent the fake injuries. Maybe implement that the player would have to sit out one or two series or the entire remaining quarter. Harsh but would stop most of the flops. Not sure what the solution is but it does get old, especially with the incident at Tennessee with two of our defensive backs going down at the same time while watching each other.

Agreed.

IF there’s a stoppage of play for any injury (or “injury”) -
in the name of player safety, they should, at a minimum, be forced to sit out the remainder of the current drive.

But sadly - teams would still probably do this anyway, especially on 3rd down, where they think that if they can get a stop;
it’s worth it to lose a player for the free TO and to stall the opponent’s offensive momentum.

They could modify the rule such that the “injured” player sits out the rest of the current series,
AND all of the next one.

But in end of game scenarios, where there may not be a next series, teams would still be willing to do this anyway.

Yea I thought their fans kinda sucked. Mix of course, but people definitely did not like me cheering for the orange. Their fans, overall, were mostly smug preppy d bags. I loved watching them cry. Dawgum Dabo doesn't fool me either. Guy gaslights like crazy at the first sign of adversity.

Klubnick seemed busy blaming teammates all game too for when he was dealing with pressure. He didn’t have much to say about all the poor throws he made missing open receivers but had plenty to say on the sidelines about his protection…

Klubnik did not have a point! Clemson players also went down when SU was on a roll.

I think if you come out for an injury, you should be out for the series.

In all fairness, the rules should stipulate something like this, as it is a problem that needs a rules solution. We saw a bit of it from Tennessee truth be told.

That said, really weird comment from an opposing player who's team just got pucnhed in the mouth and whose opposing team QB counterpart actually did suffer a season-ending injury in the game.

But I get it, Clemson fans are in full melt-down with their seaason start faceplant and there's heat coming in from every direction on the coaches and players. He's simply trying to deflect. It's just not a good excuse, however. And Tiger's fans are not buying it, LOL.

Yup, if you go down with any injury, being out for the rest of the series makes sense. Completely stops any fake injuries.

But it would also encourage guys who are genuinely hurt to stay on their feet, and try to get to the sideline instead of staying down.

Maybe 2 snaps of "rest and recovery" minimum after every injury stoppage? I mean, I need a minute to recover after I stub my toe, these guys can't possibly adequately recover from rolling around on the ground in pain and play only 30 seconds later, can they?
