Great win yesterday but i dont think Kool kid can dance. It would seem that just when we started to get into a groove on O he would change from Marvin Gaye to Hip Hop. As Disney said Get with the beat Baggie.

Kool kids rhythm will look a lot better with some football speed at wideout and 1 guy who is willing to catch the ball over the middle. I think he's going to be just fine, I don't understand how people think things are going to change significantly in 1-2 weeks

I was quite happy with his calls yesterday. I felt he called a game within the teams personnel and rode his horse which is Jerome.

And for the record the kool kid nickname is gay and demeaning towards him.
Agree on all counts. Especially the childish nickname bs.

Maybe it's just me but too many k initials for a black guy makes me uncomfortable

I thought that Kool Kid was his twiter handle?

Not that I know of...

It was a moniker stuck on him by a member (who shall remain nameless) of this board.

I thought he called an excellent game yesterday. Probably the best game all season. Some execution cost him, but that wasn't his fault. The only question mark would be the 3 straight passes over 2 series at the end of the game, but I really think he felt we had the game in hand, and had a chance at some easy completions, which could go a long way on ending with some positives going into this weeks preparation.

OiG is the official arbiter of nicknames, so he will need too chime in on this...

Orijinal originally came up with it, but it was used un a negative manner. I liked the nickname and attempted to repurpose Cool Kid as a positive, but my football philosophy nemesis Go has apparently succeeded in repurposing it back as a negative, and changed the spelling of cool to have a k. What's interesting is I think Orijinal likes that the nickname has been versatile enough to to be used both ways.

I think it is a bit hasty to say which way the nickname will ultimately land, but in Cool Kid I trust.

It's clear we can all agree that Thickburger will be MacDonald's nickname in the event Cool Kid (positive use) doesn't stick.

:gavel:

It was fine for the type of game they needed to play yesterday.

I don't know what that play to Hickey was all about, but other than that he had the offense play to its strenght.

The offense has looked somewhat better...since Lester joined MacDonald upstairs during the games. Not sure what to make of that, but the outcome seems to be superior to him alone.

If it were not for the freakin unforced penalties, we might have had 30 to 34 points instead of 20 and that would be just fine. Play calling was not the problem (except for the passes at 7:50 left) - penalties were. And the place was a quiet as a library most of the time we had the ball.

I think it's just what Shafer said: they worked that way at Western Mich, it's helpful logistically in that it's another set of eyes on the field. Both Lester and McDonald said that they like it better. The lone concern was not having a guy in Hunts ear.

The Kool Kid nickname is ridiculous.
Agreed, but Cool Kid totally works.

Cool Kid = all that is good and right in this world.

Kool Kid = a nickname unbefitting a coach for Syracuse University.
