Hunt will see action early vs Wagner according to Shafer. If nothing else this staff isn't afraid to make changes.

My biggest concern remains McDonald. No rhyme or reason to his play calling. It's like he's got 100 plays, and just pulls them out of a hat as he goes along.

Krautman's seeking treatment for a nagging injury. Which makes the shift in punters make more sense. Fisher punts, Dixon kicks. Each can concentrate on one area.

McDonald and the O players said that they are pairing the play book back. That's what they did in the second half vs NW too.

They'll be fine.

Norton will be handling all the Kickoffs, FG's and PAT's.

Dixon punts.

Fisher sits.

There is an article on sryacuse.com about former Marrone players questioning the offense, its an interesting read to say the least.

interesting ONLY in the fact that Cohen is still trying to break the program apart piece by piece..Now his efforts are using former players to talk shyte on the efforts of the current coaches. This kid is BEGGING for someone to kick the piss out of him on the street.

Mac needs to get comfortable with the players and who he is as an OC with this system and most importantly figuring out the flow of the game. At times it did look like square peg in circle but good coaches know they have to improve and I have faith in McDonald that he will. Adjustments are a huge part of this game and making adjustments to the playbook and recognizing what the players can execute and when is very important and often overlooked or ignored.

I agree, give this guy a break its his second game. This isnt Alabama, where we can get a proven Offensive Coordinator and pay 2 mil a yr. We went with an unproven guy who has gotten the offense to play better in each game. Hopefully his learning curve isnt too steep, and we can enjoy his playcalling for yrs to come.

So... I questioned the Marrone offense 3 out of 4 years, because it was pretty crappy, so I find it funny that former MArrone players have bailed on the offense this season after two games.

Ya, but who are these players? The only name I've seen thrown around is a FB who barely played.

Maybe the others are fraternity brothers of Cohen...maybe one is the person who took the old picture for his twitter account.

LOL definitely some irony there. Its way to early to bail, lets see what happens the next three weeks.

Wow...and this is coming from one of the, let's just say...less optimistic posters on the board. How did you put it "hope for the best but expect the worst"? Kudos. ;-)

Isn't Norton the place kicker?

No reason to bail after two games, i would prefer we ran a more power run offense like we did last year under Marrone but obviously thats not what Macdonald wants to do or knows how to run so were trying some different things. With Estime, Broyld, and Moore we have some weapons we didnt really have last year so maybe we are setting up to use them more as the season continues to progress. It also helps that I figured it was likely we would be 0-2 if we didnt beat Penn State. Two tough games for a team that simply cant just reload when it loses most of the skill position players on offense and its best player on Defense.

If your going to be a Syracuse fan, u should always expect the worst but root hard as hell for the best.

Couldn't agree more about the power running game! Jerome needs to get at least 20 carries per game, imo. That would help set-up the pass and take some presser off the qb.

They'll be fine.

I totally get not overreacting. It's been 2 games.

But I'm not sold with some of the "they'll be fine" talk.

I mean, they may not be fine. It's not like we haven't had a ton of seasons in the past decade where the offense generally sucked. Like, most of them really.

Seems more appropriate to say "we'll see".

I was thinking we'd be fine based in the 2nd half sans INTs. Maybe that is too generous.

We'll see ;).

Well, keep in mind Scooch, if the standard is sucking, and we suck, that would mean we're fine relative to what we're used to. :noidea:

Is say that the fact we didn't see hunt v ped st shows just how scared or lost they were game 1. I think we all were expecting a series or 2 from hunt, but the game plan was gone quick.

The panic button for rookie coaches is on their wrist like a playsheet band for QBs and is the size of flava flavs clock.

The execute game plan button under duress is the size of the guide button on a remote and like most here, they can't find it.

What happened to "Whatever "Cool Kid" wants to do"?

Two games and you're off the bandwagon? Yikes.

I think there is a strong desire to get our playmakers -- aside from the RBs -- more involved. Broyld, Estime, even Clark. But our execution has been so poor that it hasn't worked as well as we had hoped. I agree with those who think the power run game is the way to go, with LOTS of carries for Smith and Gully, with as many as we can get for GMII. If we do that, I think the passing game will benefit. And more of those plays to our playmakers will be BIG plays.

Where did I say that?

Here's what just happened - you think I'm an idiot, and you look for evidence to confirm that. Since you couldn't find any, you then twisted something to reinforce your belief. Classic case of confirmation bias.
