Kris Returns to Practice

I sure do hope that it was precautionary. I mean, the good news is, if he is healthy, we have an explosive senior that can do a little bit of everything and score in bunches when he decides to take over. If he isn't, like last year, he will still bring a lot of value, and in the meantime Fair is getting more practice and playing time to develop.

Cool stuff. I miss the daily practise reports we used to get back in the day by some of our posters : (

i just looked up what jumping the shark meant... i always thought it meant outdoing something/somebody. whooopsss

After missing a week with a sore knee.

I hope this isn't a problem (again) going forward.
seems like a red flag to me, and the response wasn't exactly encouraging. he was supposed to be 100%, now we are hearing knee swelling, when he has recently admitted knee problems since high school. not a ringing endorsement going into the season. "i'm practicing now so it's irrelevant" no sir, you haven't been practicing, therefore it is relevant.

Yeah, this concerns me a little bit. We're hoping for KJ to kind of be the man this year (some of us, at least), and last year he was hampered by the knee. I just don't want to see him hobbled by an injury and not able to reach his potential this year.

No doubt. I don't think Kris could ever be "the man" type player, however. I think he would be a HELL of a 2nd option on a championship caliber team. Fortunately we have CJ if Kris has a setback. We'll be OK though. I'm really fired up about Triche and Waiters this season. I think they both will have BIG seasons.

Ya k jo doesnt have the take control attitude or is he aggressive enough on the court. I think he feels more comfortable not being the man.

Yep...he can't really create his own shot. He's aggressive with those charges and early shot clock hoists, though. I like him don't get me wrong but he still needs to address multiple areas of his game if he's going to make a NBA roster ever, imo.

Hes not a nba player imo and im pretty good at determining these things. He will play for pay over seas some where.

Wow suprised to hear people feel that way. I feel just the opposite. At first I thought some of these posts were sarcasm for a minute.

I think he is Excellent at creating his shot. He blew by his guy at will last year and made huge strides in his shooting game. The first year ever he shot it consistantly.

Kris has put on some serious muscle(No Joke) and he claims more midrange shots to add to his explosivness. Thets not forget last year was the first year he really put the time to extend his jumpshooting game. If he Can better his jumpshot even 25% of the jump he made last year and adds 2-3 midrange shots a game then he could be a good NBA scorer.

Defense(sliding in particular) and rebounding is where my concerns are for him not making the NBA. And I think his upperbody is going to fix the rebounding half at the least. Scouts will learn that KJO has only spent one year shooting the jumpshot (last year) and take that into consideration if he gets even 15% better this year.

This whle team seems ready for a breakout season... Fab, CJ, Triche, Waiters, KJo etc

15% better? lulz

Dont break your ankles jumping off the bandwagon now.. sheesh, we all beg for are players to keep coming back nd now we throw him under the bus like hes no good and want to ship him out to Italy smh If Im not mistaken he could of left to the NBA last year as a late 1st round pick early 2nd. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to be the leader or the main guy, there is plenty of guys like that in the NBA and the 1st One that comes to mind is LeBron James.

Very worried about the knee. I have been surprised the board has been preoccupied with a water-skiing Fonzi for a week while our star player is out of practice with a knee injury before game 1. This was mentioned in an article a week ago.

15% what was I thinking.

Kris shot 22% from three and had no perimeter game as a Sophmore.
As a Jr he went up to 36.6% from three last year. That is outstanding!!! Amazing really.
He shot 45.6% from two while averaging 5.2 BPG.. couchburn
He is already probably the best SF in the big east off the dribble easily (probably was last year also) and thats saying alot.

More like 2-10% percent and I would be happy while taking atleast 3-4 more shots per game as a senior leader.

This year Kris has worked on his upper arms for rebounding and says he wants to pull up more from midrange right out of his own mouth. Whats there not to be excited about?

To compare him to a recent Big East guy maybe Sam Young from Pitt.
Sam averaged 50% from 2 and 37 from 3 while pulling down 6.2 boards PG, and was a isolation player like Kris.
I wouldn't say Kris couldn't have a better year then that either with those new upper arms of his. Kris just has to put it all together.

If that happens [for all of the players you reference], we're going to have a big year...
