Kyle McCord -- all-time SU passing list

McCord has played a grand total of five games at SU, and he is already 14th all-time in TD passes with 17.

If he keeps up his current pace he will finish with 40 TD passes in the regular season which would put him 6th all-time only behind McNabb, Nassib, Dungey, Graves, McPherson.

Very surprised by Graves TD/Int ratio.

Norley, Ouch! (But he beat Nebraska!) I remember we generally avoided the pass then. Dome used to chant “Run, Run, Pass, Kick”

As much as Dungey helped Dino, Macpherson helped change the narrative about coach Mac on offense.

You got backups like Officer Mahoney and the immortal Cam Dantley on that list.

some great throwback names on this list, i.e. Todd Norley or as Mac used to say in his Downeast Maine accent, "Tawd Nahr-lee." Didn't realize Perry Patterson was Top 10, Perry took a lot of heat from fans but he was a victim of playing on atrocious Grob teams.

Graves is the first QB I remember at Syracuse (I was born in 84) so some elder statesmen can certainly correct me but I recall him throwing deep a lot. Curious if many of those picks were defacto punts or I'm completely mistaken?

Y/int would be an interesting stat to have in these conversations and I do fully believe rushing yards and TDs have to be taken into account but McCord is already the best passer I've seen take snaps at SU. His accuracy and change of velocity on passes throws off timing of defenders like crazy. He throws lasers tight by defenders or floats them over their outstretched arms AND he doesn't waste passes out of bounds down the sidelines.

I thought Patterson had some of Hunts skillset. Among him, Nunes and Anderson he was the best, but Nunes the most “entertaining”

Perry couldn’t really run at all, whereas Hunt was a very effective running QB. Both were medicore passers.

Because of injuries, sadly he only played in 18 games his career here too. His 3rd year here he got hurt in the very 1st game in the first series of the season and never played a 4th year. Sad.

It's crazy to me that Graves only threw 48 TDs as a 4 year starter. I know he missed a few games as a redshirt freshman, but he played on good teams with good pass catching options. Just shows how different the game was back then.
