Unfortunately, his career isn't off to the best start for that. He's trending more like a practice squad guy on the fringe of being completely out of the league. Hope that he gets an opportunity to show his value to a team that will actually roster him.

We’re probably not tagging Malik. He showed a lot coming off the bench for Love this year and will probably get another crack at a starting job. Then there is Desmond Ridder. Competition is not stiff. Kyle could play himself into the backup role.

Absolutely, I'd guess they bring in a UDFA or 2 this year as well, but there is certainly a path to Kyle making the 53 Man Roster.

After he was drafted, McCord was signed by the Eagles to a four-year contract worth $4,461,232, with a signing bonus of $261,232 and $261,232 guaranteed.

He later is cut. No other team signs him, therefore, his four-year contract is essentially cancelled (?).

He signed to the Eagles practice squad.
Practice squad players in the 2025 season received $13,000/week.
For 18 weeks, that means he grossed about $234,000 for the 2025 season.

Is it correct that he earned $261,232 + $234,000 for the 2025 season?

I think that is correct. I also wonder does it count toward time served in the league to get a pension? I think you need to play in 3 games to get the credit but again, not sure. I think its 3 years to get the pension.

Yes, my understanding is the signing bonus was the guaranteed dollar amount, which only would have counted against the $4.46M contract. Once he was cut and signed to the practice squad, that started a new contractual agreement, which you laid out and equals out to a roughly half million dollars in earnings last season.

NFL players become eligible for a pension by earning "credited seasons"—defined as being on an active, inactive, IR, or PUP roster for at least three regular or post-season games.
