Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

There isn't a position in team sports more important than QB. A team can't consistently win without a good QB. Teams can win with deficiencies in every other position, but not at the QB spot.
Kyle is an excellent player. He's a great leader. Solid as a rock individual. I simply can't see him going beyond the third round.
I just received the Draft Digest a couple of days ago and fwiw, they list him 4th best, going in the second or third round.

I think 2nd, as well.

All of these mock drafts aren't worth the paper they are printed on. I also believe the Pricio info from the other day, indicating that teams are much higher on McCord than the sports media is at the present time. NFL teams see what he can do.

The Athletic writers just did a full mock draft. They have Kyle going to the Jets in the 5th round. They had 6-7 QBs going before him.
Please God no

If the Giants do the smart thing they will take McCord on the second round; I may be a Giants fan again, along with Buffalo.

I wonder where he would be drafted if his Junior season was at Cuse and his Senior season was at Ohio State. Same results at each school, just flip the order.
If Kyle led the nation in passing and brought Ohio State to a national championship he would be a first round pick for sure. CUSE/ACC bias works against him but I think he’ll be a great pro.

Rooting for him to go to the Steelers in the third round

The Athletic has him the 8th best QB and not a Top 100 prospect. It's insane how variable he's ranked and have no idea at this point where he'll go.

Yeah, it's more like Syracuse bias to be precise.
How is there a Syracuse bias?

Have we had a lot of good players? I don't think so. We are the biased ones, brother!

Where he will be drafted will be based on intrinsic value and system fit. I hope its in the 3rd, 2nd is a stretch.

I think if McCord played for more of a name brand program last year that he'd be getting a lot more attention, particularly on draft boards. We also see anti Syracuse bias (so to speak) in recruit rankings.

It's not that anyone dislikes our program, but rather it's all about which programs have hype and which ones don't.

because the people doing the rankings for the most part are agenda driven ass clowns or familiars that GMs use to send out smokescreens.

Guys like Kiper and NFL network insiders get fed BS from team sources. Some internet Joe Schmo has no sources. Mocks are a giant waste of time IMO
I agree. Team draft boards are a well-guarded secret. There is no reason they would reveal anything substantive to some "insider", particularly with regards to a "dark horse" candidate like McCord.

This is like handicapping horses - everyone has an opinion, some are based on facts and serious analysis, and some are emotional uninformed wild ass guesses. For all these prognosticators their Kentucky Derby is on April 24-26. We shall see..

Complete malarkey. The only bias, is the one here filled with so many Orange colored (whoa is Syracuse) glasses they believe that the Coke Orange Cream Soda being pimped during March Madness is the best frigging thing since sliced bread.

McCord got all the exposure he could ever get while at OSU, etc. Whether he transferred out to SU or some other, let's just say, "lessor" school, his draft status, etc. today wouldn't be any different, or not one that was of any considerable significance.

Did it hurt Josh Allen coming from a weak sauce school the likes of Wyoming? Or how about Jordan Love from that power house in Utah State? Fact is, as much as the NFL draft is somewhat of a crap shoot, etc., these professional folks in position to assess, analyze, draft, etc. have far more expertise than anyone spewing nonsense and bias here. McCord will be drafted based upon his perceived merits, strength and weaknesses, etc., which won't have anything to do in reality that he played one (out of 5) seasons at poor 'ol Syracuse University.

Whoa, no reason to use the M word, this is a family message board.

Seems like David is talking mainly about mock drafts and you are talking about the actual draft.
