Kyle McCord to NFL Draft

thus the question when people ask why the guys declare for the draft.

They want to make it clear and try to get drafted

If you watched LQA's interview after the Holiday Bowl it seemed like he was 50/50 on returning. If the team (including Kyle) was all coming back and "running it back" at a chance for the playoffs next season, you'd think he'd come back when the RB draft class is stacked.

This was an opinion post on my end. I would love for Kyle to come back. I just think people are talking themselves into something that isn't going to happen because there's too much smoke saying otherwise.
You’re probably correct, but here is my counterpoint.

I don’t know Kyle nor have I ever met him. With that said, he seems like the type of person that would post a farewell similar to what LQA and Clark just did. I don’t know if this is because of the culture Fran has installed or just an individual decision, but I think it’s a classy thing to do.

If a decision has been made (both from the NCAA and Kyle), I think we would see a farewell post fairly quickly from him to put closure on this topic and allow the program to move forward (he probably already has it drafted at this point).

The fact he hasn’t means nothing other than the decision(s) are still up in the air.

I think there is an increasing chance the waiver gets approved and Kyle still opts for the NFL. They are not changing a rule for him, it’s for everyone.
This is also what I expect at this point. It's a weak QB draft class

I agree with this. With that said, it’s been a week since the last game, if he has personally made the decision, why wait for the NCAA and just declare now? Would help the program move forward.

This is absurd!!
Milroe
Ward
Sanders
Nussmeier
Aller
Ewers
Beck
This years class is LOADED!!
I mean, there are always qbs to draft but the quality of this group is definitively lower than other years. Milroe, Evers and beck? Sheesh. Nuss is back with lsu. Sanders and ward as top-end is super weak

But they arent elite QB's. They are good but im not trading up in the draft for none of them.

We had LQA a few days ago, and Alijah yesterday. I'm guessing every guy is going to get their shine over the next few days.

So before you were pessimistic about the appeal being in the ballpark of something that could actually work, and now you think it will but just think Kyle will choose the draft? That seems like a pretty big shift, even for the guy that ruins everything!

Browns Linked to Major Sleeper NFL Draft QB

Article was yesterday. It’s Cleveland but still.
Going down the rabbit hole…..

The Sports Illustrated article states the link to McCord as the article below:

Overview And Film Analysis Of 2025 NFL Draft Prospect And Syracuse QB Kyle McCord, A Gunslinging Late-Season Riser.

Essentially this article states the Browns, Raiders and Rams as potential landing spots.

This article was also written by a Senior at Poolesville High School in Maryland.

To the tune of the legendary “Let Them Play” Bad News Bears Astrodome chat

LET - HIM - PLAY!
LET - HIM - PLAY!!
LET - HIM - PLAY!!!
A sequel that was not half bad. Tony Curtis pulled it off as the manager. Didn't like #3, "Bad News Bears Go To Japan," should have ended it after #2."

watching those games. There were not that far away this year with decent QB play.
That's the trap. The Browns last 50 years have been summarized by "They were not far away except for _____"

If anything says "run it back with the Orange", it's the threat of winding up with the Browns.
Exactly, make sure Kyle reads this, he will be back the minute his waiver gets approved

A lot of guys announced their departure this week, why not McCord? Logically I would think it's because he is still on the fence, which is what he has said publicly and some insiders have shared here as well.

I still don't think he's decided yet. I think there is a high chance he returns because I think they will win the appeal.
