Kyle McCord: Waived by Eagles

I don't know the rules now but when I officiated high school football aiding the runner was a penalty. If you're going to allow the tush push, which I find ridiculous, then why not get a small female gymnast to play running back and have 2 players pick her up with the ball and throw her over the line of scrimmage?

Imagine what she could do while still in the air before sticking her landing!

I think it was a change because it was too hard to tell in a pile if the blockers were pushing defenders or the ball carrier. I'm cool with it. I always thought the old rule was stupid. "Hey you guys. You can push each other, slam into each other at a dead sprint, and drag each other to the ground, but don't you dare shove your teammate carrying the ball."

I believe throwing another player may still be illegal. The question is, should it be?

You could also sub in Dikembe at the mike to mercilessly block the shot for negative yards.

Pretty solid comparable! Darnold is an above avg NFL qb. Very similar styles of play. If McCord can become a Sam Darnold of recent, that’s pretty dang good.

QB Kyle McCord: You can usually tell pretty quickly if a young quarterback just isn't going to make it. Examples of past players who got off to bad starts and then never recovered were Clayton Thorson and Carson Strong. McCord is not one of those guys. He made several impressive throws over the middle of the field throughout the spring, and seems to carry himself with some swagger and confidence. At a minimum, he is going to make the team.

I was perusing Eagle's training camp notes on Yahoo Sports and saw a note about Kyle at training camp. It reported that Kyle missed badly on a bullet pass to a wide open streaking receiver on Thursday (July 24th)

I have heard on some Birds podcasts that Kyle looks like an NFL QB.

The Eagles beat reporters have been impressed with his decision making and the speed with which he gets rid of the ball.
