I would think the hometown pressure you mentioned had absolutely nothing to do with his performance in Training Camp/Preseason. Zilch,Frankly, I would prefer he go elsewhere.
I just think the pressure to perform in front of the home crowd is too much for him - he really stunk in the preseason there.
And there is no legitimate path to playing time in the near future.
The only problem is will anyone give him a look after his preseason.
The whole Eagles team after their starters was hot garbage. O line and receivers were dreadful. Counted 4 drops Thursday in addition to McCords bad throws. The whole team’s timing seemed off.The limited stuff i saw, his timing seemed off on most of his throws.
On the flip side maybe our offense can make the next new guy look that good
Actually, Marlowe Wax had himself an insane preseason. Kid made himself some $$$$ that he deserved after being hurt last year. Easily would have been a mid round pick.Me
I don't agree at all.Sadly it was a weird team for him to be drafted by. Not much of a chance he was going to make the 53 man roster.. He will catch on to a practice squad. Hopefully a season or two on a practice squad he can catch on to a roster. Getting real hard for QBs to stick anymore with most teams going to only 2 QBs on the 53 man roster.
I don't agree at all.
The Eagles were the perfect team for him.
This is a franchise that is very good at developing young QBs.
Look at Tanner McKeee, the Eagles' former 6th round pick who is now being described as a future NFL starter.
Jalen Hurts was drafted to be a back-up to Carson Wentz. And, there are other examples.
I watched Kyle all pre-season.
He never looked like the guy I saw last fall in the Dome.
He was slow, indecisive and inaccurate. He looked befuddled.
I have no doubt that the Eagles were planning on him being the third QB this season. His awful performance during the pre-season made that impossible.
I hope - and expect - that the Birds bring him back to the Practice Squad.
I guess I read to much into the Qb1 and 2 where solid locks. He would have had to play LIGHTS OUT to move them. Developing him as a number 3 is smart.I don't agree at all.

I blame this guy...Frankly, I assumed that the reason why he stunk so badly in preseason is that he was frankly trying too hard.
We got great reports of him in rookie camp - and then he proceeded to stink out training camp and preseason. I know one Eagles reporter said it was like he was a different kid from rookie camp.
Everyone seemed confused why he took such a drastic step back.
Heck - I am confused why he performed so badly.
If McCord doesn't at least get a practice squad job, I'll see the Eagles and potentially the entirety of the NFL in Hell.
It was all just a ruse to get him through waivers...Frankly, I assumed that the reason why he stunk so badly in preseason is that he was frankly trying too hard.
