Ok, we all know Red can’t coach, but how do all 3 guards not know to slow it down SOMEWHAT at the end of the game. You would think older guys can do that on their own. George seems to panic when things get close. Kingz, I have no words. Some of those drives and turnovers were scary. JJ just thinks he has to run 100mph at the hoop no matter what the situation. While the HC still should be screaming to pull the ball out, and tell the team during timeouts that we need to burn some clock, I do put blame on the guards here.

I thought they had started to slow it down at around the 11 minute mark. No more fastbreaks to the basket, most shots taken with under 10 seconds on the play clock. When I saw that I thought it was a little early to go into a Jim Boeheim stall. It almost burned them. Maybe the problem is he told them to take time off the clock with each possession but they have not been properly coached what to do in the last 10 seconds. Plus too many turnovers.

As I wrote in another post, in addition to what you said, they also didn’t take any 3 point shots after the 11:29 mark in the game. It’s like we stopped doing everything that got us the 20 point lead.

Have to find a balance between killing clock and still playing to our strengths.

I agree, we slowed down too early… but then we started going too fast. Nait has to be a leader. Should never let that team back in it with a good pg. especially a non 3pt shooting team

Slowing it down seemed to be our problem, from my perspective.

This team might need to be all gas, no brakes… or else they break.
exactly

they change the way they play late in games and it ALWAYS makes them play worse

they play not to lose instead of just playing to win

and they are incapable of playing well in that mindset, apparently

first 30 mins of gt game were good ...last 11 were horrid

"slowing it down" alone isnt going to work...they need to figure out how to play end of games

its been a hallmark of all 3 of reds seasons that end of games are horrific...whatever strings he pulls at the ends of games needs to change
