I know we have lots of issues offensively, but to me the biggest issue is our lack of good passers.

The board has threads on
1) why don’t we run to get easy baskets
2) our offensive sets suck
3) our shooting is inconsistent
4) our offensive rebounding is non existent

All of these are reasons why our offense stinks, but the first three get noticeably better if you have players who look to make a good pass leading to an easy shot. We have 1 guy that does that. It’s like watching a game on a local playground.

Battle, Hughes, Brissett are all “head down, my shot” kind of guys. Chukwu and Sid are barely functional on offense at all. Frank is mediocre as a D1 passer. Buddy and Carey have potential but aren’t ready yet. Marek is the only guy who makes others plays for others.

Good passing teams make up for a lack of scorers by getting easy shots through good passing. We get none. Passing is a big part of basketball IQ, we are well below average.

We are getting beat by players with far less athletic ability but far more ability to pass the ball.

I am seriously hoping that this changes next year if Goodine and Guerrier have the passing IQ, we might be able to put 3 or 4 guys like that on the court at once and flip the script.

Frank found numerous scorers open last night and they went ahead and swung it to the next guy. It was hard to watch. This happened several times and half the crowd was yelling just shoot

Completely agree here. Too many guys, especially Battle, try to force the issue going one v many without ever looking to kick out for an easy shot. For guys who want to play on the next level, it's amazing to me how bad they are at this. Golden State is amazing because they have three or four guys who can score at will but who also value sharing the ball for the better shot. Our guys don't.

Our players hate moving without the ball and have their backs to the basket during open looks.

It’s awful fundamentals and mental errors ontop of mental errors.

it was ridiculous.

they pass around 4 or 5 times to get a slight window (which takes up a lot of clock) -pass up on an open shot - and in the end someone chucks up a bad one cuz the clock is gone.

meekly passing around the perimeter for 20 seconds - and then the hot potato holder going for a desperate heave - is NOT PASSING the ball around well!

it's like they have been told pass 10 times before shooting and they don't get it that passing back and forth 30 feet from the basket DOES NOTHING but waste clock.

a big problem is that as soon as any of the "3point specialists" miss their first 1 or 2 attempts from 3 for the game - they are catatonic for the duration. Everyone was off last night and scared to shoot - so most of the open 3s got passed up and worse ones were taken.

passes have to be made to players in 2 point territory to unsettle the Defense - but for some reason howard, hughes, battle and brissett move on the court like the whole 2 point area has a 3 second rule. they need to go in the 2 point area more and stop standing around on the perimeter.

Also many passes don’t hit the guy were they need to. We have guys open and throw the ball to their knees. They have no idea how to feed the post. This is a really tough season to stomach. I don’t see anything changing soon. Sad.

They think they are a 3 point shooting team. You don’t put long lanky athletic guys on court to only shoot threes.

Other than Hughes there’s little confidence.
