Lane Kiffin thread...

I have heard from some reliable sources that he is on the very short list. Now I hate what he did to Tennessee and I think we would have to pay an arm and a leg for this guy, but come on he has name recognition, he is good enough to be the offensive coordinator at Alabama for god sakes. The same team that is starting yet another Qb who had little to no experience and they are arguably the best team in the country right now. (although look at all their talent). He also has head coaching experience at Tennessee and USC.

Dude, don't worry about it. Seriously, don't fret. It is not happening for many many reasons. Not only won't Coyle make that suggestion, but do you honestly think that Kent Syverud would bless it? Or the Board of Trustees? No and No.

We are in a GREAT place right not when it comes to university leadership. Such an asset right now as opposed to the past.

I'll be honest ... in a vacuum, I don't think Kiffin is a terrible choice. I think he'd do well. People grow and evolve. But I don't want him for this job either.

The one choice that would rankle me and make me question my allegiance to SU would be Schiano.
Oh man, ... that would really really bother me on so many levels.

Let's be sensible for a minute. How could a school that is now on probation, hire a HC that committed multiple recruiting violations at Tennessee?

Gotta say I was extremely surprised to hear that Coyle contacted him a few weeks back if he had any interest in the job. Would have been a bad hire, Kiffin just saved us from Kiffin and a bad hire by not being interested. That being said I would be extremely surprised if Frost is not the hire based on what I have heard and what has already taken place. Looks like we are going to have an Oregon Coach taking over an offense with an Oregon QB...who would have thought the state of Oregon would have such a big influence on our rebuild

I could not think of a more despicable person with a complete lack of honesty and character to hire. Please god - No thanks!

Could we even pay him more than what Alabama is paying him as the OC?

edit: he's making $680K. Surprised it's that low at Alabama, especially when Saban is making like $7M.

He was a failure as a HC for the Raiders, Vols, and Trojans. In fact, he is arguably more a failure than GReg. If we're going to go that route, lets just bring back Greg. He's cheaper, he knows the region better, and he reads uplifting kid's stories at his press conferences.

PLEASE NO LANE.

P.S. Before everyone jumps on me, I don't want GRob either. That was a joke to highlight how terrible Lane would be.

Say what you want about any other coach we have ever had but you can not say they were classless bottom scum.
