Leaving the Dome early.

The wave is the worst cheer in sports and i refuse to participate in it. Actually its the second worst cheer in sports. The one the cheerleaders do during basketball games is the worst cheer in sports.
Someone else in this world is aligned with me.

It wasn't an empty Dome at the end. Yes, some left but it wasn't close to 10k that left. These kind of threads take on a life of their own.

Fair enough. I wasnt at this game but as a broad sweeping statement it still stands. The players bust their a$$ year round so I feel we should give the same decency for a full 4 quarters unless the game is well put to rest.

I was hoping to avoid having to post this but the cats out of the bag so I will. I was one of the people who left early after the Hunt int. I never leave early but the frustration of that play and the run play before had me at my boiling point. Was it a mistake? Of course. I even stopped halfway and nearly went back to my seat but decided against it. That being said I would put my fandom up against anyone in this thread or on this board. Sometimes frustration can get the best of you but don't lump everyone who left early together we are sure as hell not equal.

You won't see me question your fandom. Not with seeing you year after year at every game and all the work you put into the tailgates. I just laughed when you said you left after the INT. I'm sure you felt worse about leaving than anyone here mad about people leaving.

I know you weren't, that was more of a general statement as there were some posts above about people leaving early and stuff and I just wanted to set the record straight at least from my end. Trust me there was definitely no one who regretted more then me, felt like about it for sure. I wont make the mistake again for sure, but hey at least the tailgate was good.

Some people were leaving with over 8min left! I was around some great people,no one wanted to leave even after the game ! The crowd was going wild leaving the dome.

Agreed. I was hugging people in my section that I don't even know, and we all stuck around for a few minutes after the final whistle just to soak it in even though we were still basically speechless. Nothing like getting blown out of the dome doors with a 'Lets Go Orange' chant behind you from Gate P. yeah! Was easy to walk all the way back to the rose garden parking whilst still on cloud nine.

THE DOME WAS LOUD TODAY. MANY SEASON TICKET HOLDER FROM 301 DID NOT ATTEND, BUT THOSE IN THEIR SEATS WERE ACTIVE AND LOUD ON EVERY DOWN MADE IT GREAT.

how about the same idiot who started the wave the first time was trying to start it up again during BC's last drive. How about pay attention to the game and make some noise. Another example of Syracuse fans needing to be re-educated on how to cheer during a football game

Thank them for buying season tickets or game day tickets and coming to the game and buying concessions. This isn't Alabama. When others would use the tickets for a whole game and the stadium is full, we can begin to complain about the half gamers.

Another fan leaving a game early has never upset me or ruined my enjoyment of going to the game. I don't get the nastiness of fans towards other fans that leave early. WHO CARES! Doesn't ruin my time at the game

Again, I agree. At least they were there. It's a football game and obviously they don't really care who wins or feel it a priority to stick around. Enjoy the game. What

I left in the second quarter but it's all part of my master plan to brain wash a two year old and it's working. No way he makes it through the whole game but he loved the train, Otto, the band, and yelling for no reason. Long term investment here

Attendance is not as bad as it looks in tv. The sideline behind the camera is more full than the one you see on tv. It's strange

I started my son with the spring game when he was two. The brainwwashing works, he is four now and refuses to leave any game early. We stayed until 9:40 at night for the Fordham bball game until the clock went to zero.

The brainwashing works. I started mine at 3. Now at 16 he's as much a diehard as anyone and a tailgate junkie to boot.

It's well worth it. Nothing better then going to a football game with your dad.

i myself have never once left the dome early. (the wifey calls them quitter fans)
if i buy a ticket then my butt's in that seat til the bitter end. if traffic ever looks to be an issue i simply mosey on down to phoebes and enjoy a cold brew.

I guarantee that the fans who left early are the same ones who try to initiate the wave every game.

Right?!? I'm watching a nail biter. SU is a critical position, needing to score to regain the lead, and some morons start the wave...while us has the ball?!? Really? About that same time, a group a fan around me had their backs turned to the game while they sorted out who had dome dogs and mustard. Holy crap people! Don't you watch the game at all!

I live near Atlanta and can tell you nothing beats the beltway in DC during rush hour ... I have seen how bad the traffic can be in Atlanta, DC, NYC and even Tokyo Japan ... but nothing beats DC.
I too have been a lot of places and currently live right at the Rte 66/Beltway interchange. I see parking lots often.

Not to mention timing of the wave... 4th quarter of a close game. Offense on the field and working. I just shook my head and didn't participate.

Honestly, today wasn't even that nerve-wracking.

Really, really happy for the kids. I don't believe that a 6-6 team (especially this particular 6-6 team) deserves a bowl bid. But it's great for the program that we got the win. The kids deserved it. And I want us to win every game we play. So that was a lot of fun. And the people who left are shmucks.

But it had nothing on the 2011 Wake game.
At that game I was sitting in the middle of a group of workers for a CNY company. At the end of the third quarters this guy gets up and says, "When does basketball season start." Up got seven people who were with him and out the Dome they went. I loved that we came back and won that game in OT.

My favorite was the fact that the official Cuse twitter account tweeted, "The wave has returned to the Dome!"

Whoever is running that account are freaking wave enablers. Irritating.

Respectfully disagree, there have been years when teams with losing records have gone bowling. If there are other 6-6 teams going to bowls then this group of kids should be going too. Yesterday with a ragtag, next up kids we beat a seven win, Heisman candidate toting ACC team.

Yeah, I'm in the minority on this one.

That's cool. My main gripe this year is with some of the coaching staff, so I'm just very happy that the kids are going to travel and get one more game. And happy, of course, that the program gets 15 practices and a little more buzz.

(And if I don't like bowls as a reward for 6-6 teams, I sure hate to see UCLA and others with losing records in the past going to bowls. Ah well. $.)

How would that fly in Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee, South Bend, Clemson, etc?

The wave is for losers.
