LeQuint Allen: Jaguars

I watched some of the Tampa Bay game. I can see how RBs 1 and 2 have some dynamics Tuckers lacks, but there were some runs where one of them danced around and got nailed for no gain where I thought Tuckers speed and power would have been better. I hope he gets a shot somewhere else.
Bucky Irving clearly has a burst Tucker isn't showing. Still, would like to see Tucker get a real shot. Seems like he's rotting away on that bench.

That means he hasn't taken many hits. Maybe his next stop is where he flourishes.

Hopefully he gets more opportunities. Seems he is taking advantage of every one he gets. Hard to watch him & Tucker be underutilized.
LQA is young for the NFL. Just turned 21. He is doing quite well. Seems to be their 3rd-down back, likely due to his pass protection proficiency. And hard to quibble, Travis Etienne is averaging 98-99 ypg rushing. LQA's time is coming.

LQA’s blocking efforts will be sorely missed.

Not sexy right but I guarantee you that both Lawrence and Coen sure as heck love that. Keeping the QB healthy and protected is big. Oline likes a guy like that as well. Helps them look good. Plus adding value by jumping on fumbles (not his), flashing run and catch and playing specials. He is building a reputation and guys like that often follow coaches to other teams, therefore having a nice extended career.

Here’s how ridiculously good his pass pro is. I don’t think he played more than a half dozen snaps tonight, but he was in on the final drive once they got to the red zone and running was not an option.

Jags knew KC was bringing heat, so the staff put him in and he picked up consecutive blitzers.

That’s crazy confidence by the staff on a rookie…and he stepped up.

It’s such a joy to watch. Jaguars have so many explosive players. I think it’s only a matter of time that they open up the playbook to get Lequint involved more with the ball. Perhaps he doesn’t have breakaway speed, but he can be reliable picking up short to medium yards rushing or receiving. But yeah when they are throwing the ball and need a back in the backfield for blocking, Lequint gets the call all day and everyday, just has that instinct and toughness to do it.
