Lester offense - Through 4 games 9 TD's, 3 Int's

Why Go?

Weren't you the guy that referred to Lester's offense as "Pop Warner" before ever seeing it?

All the wing back stuff is what you see in Pop warner football. All the stuff about Hbacks, express backs is nothing more than playing with a wing back dressed up with another name. It's very old school.

One thing that I didn't expect is how he's grafted on a solid pass scheme to go with the run game.

Huh? Do tell.

I think on the topic of "Lester could be a capable OC for us, don't judge him before the season starts" - I'm feeling pretty good.

Also feeling okay about the "Shafer doesn't put the team in a good place to win vs better opponents like Marrone did" ...

I don't want to go back and dig for it - but you pretty much just described my take from back before camp.

But it's all good. Alsacs and I have had friendly disagreements this year - I'm just picking on him a bit. It's all good fun.

I'd bet were all just happy to see things moving in a good direction offensively again.

I guess you forget about your unrelenting defense of Kool Kid.

I'm not sure you got that right. In year one? Yeah - I was trying to support what he was doing. Looking for signs of hope. I just thought it would get better. And to be clear - after the Golden Rodents bowl win I thought he'd discovered some things that could work.

And then he changed the offense again.

I did think the output vs Maryland was very good - just bad red zone %.

But anyways - you can't really beat a guy down when he admits when he was wrong. Which I do a lot.

You probably (like me) didn't anticipate the integration of the triple option either. I really like what I see so far including the number of big plays Lester's offense has produced.

Now we need to get healthy.

Very, very impressed with the effort yesterday. I thought it would be a 48-7 kind of day. The second half was so much fun. Even in a loss. Looking forward to the future.

He produced points and yards with Mahoney vs. LSU. That's impressive. I posted before the game that LSU would be a big test for his ability to scheme and this was a fantastic performance. He prepared the kid well over the week to handle his offense. Tough assignment given that Mahoney probably had no real hopes of playing at all two weeks ago. So far, he's redeemed himself well for the show we saw the last half of the 2014 season.
No. It's something more than impressive. That was a very, very good SEC west defense, and we were playing with a rag tag bunch of backups. We hung with the #8 team in the country with a walk-on QB. I'm incredibly proud of our coaches and our players.

It's starting to look like the combination of Shafers Defense and Lesters offense is going to the best we have seen around here. Things look very good here here don't you think GOSU96?

What is your problem?

Better than when, his first two years? I'd certainty hope so.

Better than where the program was 4 years after Robinson, who knows, it would be great to see.

I'm sorry if you were offended that I didn't bite my tongue when it was obvious that MacDonald was a disaster.

I guess it's too complex for you to understand that I've been a fan of what Shafer has done here on defense and hope he makes it and at the same time seeing that the offense was a self inflicted wound that made this program regress.
