Great site. Thanks for linking.

Interesting that for Rutgers, we are their most played team at 42 games. Like someone else said before on another thread, we are to Rutgers like PSU is to us. We are RU's benchmark and they have a better record lately on us overall with GRob and HCDM records combined. Thus, their chest puffing lately. Thanks GRob.

PSU is our most played team at 70 games. 70 games is a big number as we haven't played them much in recent times. Our record against PSU is better over all though than Rutgers' is with us.

Just a few more numbers to put things in historical perspective:

(data from: http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_ia/bigeast/rutgers/opponents.php )

Rutgers most played rivals are:

Princeton ** 17 wins *** 53 losses *** 1 tie Rutgers real rivalry, ever since they split the NC, back in '69, that's 1869! What's more is the Ivy Leaguers win!
Lehigh *** 43 wins *** 30 losses *** 1 tie 'Nuff said
Lafayette ** 41 *** *** 30 *** *** 1 Same as Lehigh

Some common opponents
Army **** 20 *** *** 18 Most of Rutgers wins are within the last two decades. Rutgers win formula: Kick when they are down!
Navy ** ** 12 *** *** 11 **** ***1 Meh
Syracuse ** 30 **** *** 11 *** *** 1 Rutgers uses their approach to Army games to, (clears throat) to make up ground
Penn State * 2 *** *** 22 Way to go Knights!
Pitt *** ** 8 **** *** 21 See Penn State.
Miami *** 0 **** *** 11 Gotta love Rutgers league efforts in the early years!
VATech *** 3 **** **** 11 See Miami.
WVA ***** 4 **** **** 33 **** *** 2 Another Miami/Penn State - esque historical performance
Temple *** 19 **** **** 15 Finally, Rutger "dominates" and FBS opponent! (I use "dominates" rather generously, here)
Colgate *** 27 **** **** 15 Hmmmmmmmmmm
UConn *** 21 **** **** 10 Rutgers real FBS rival, because no team can replace Princeton as teh only true rival of Rutgers!
New York * 23 **** **** 18 **** *** 2 This series ended 60 years ago.

Check out the link for more Rutgers quality football. Note how many (or few) FBS level games they played throughout their history.

Thanks for the link.

SU dominates this series which we all already know, but it's nice to look at!

Interesting how SU beat Rutgers every year from 1987 through 1998.

Rutgers won 4 games in a row until Marrone ended that nonsense.

Bye Rutgers.
