Generally, yes. You need a field general. Cuse has had some great ones and whiffed on a few that had good prep rankings. And we whiffed on two portal pg's. One, that was an acclaimed ACC player.

Red was a good prep and collegiate point guard. Being successful at PG should have been right at Red's wheelhouse. Didn't JAB blame it on JJ and Donnie? Maybe he should have blamed Nait George. What's the Secret Sauce to getting a top PG in the portal. I think we need someone from a winning program. Not someone who racked up a lot of assists at Georgia Tech.

All that said, we need a top sniper also. Someone to open the floor so a successful offense can operate. How much are you paying these players?

I have held off on commenting and I have tons of respect for JB. But, even if we were "bottom 3" in NIL, why would JB say that publicly when we are trying to hire a coach? It is just such a weird thing to do.

I think the new coach will be well supported. I don't understand the Nate hate. He wasn't great but for the most part he was ok to very good. We just had so few games where mist of our guys were on at the same time. The only good consistency came from Kyle and to lesser degrees White and Nate. So many up and down players
JJ imploding by the end of the year. There was talent on the team but so inconsistent it was impossible to know what we would get game to game

Ask yourself why there is very specific reporting on k state and BC and who they interviewed and who rejected them already. It’s because they know they need to move fast because quite literally better programs are running real hiring processes. The top candidates and their agents know this.

We need to hold our nerve and run the rest of our national search that has been ongoing for some time and get the best coach.

George has consistently been part of losing teams. Seems like he doesn’t know how to improve the players around him, which is literally the most important role of a PG, and doesn’t know how to win.
