This is the third straight year where Nassib has looked like a above average college QB against some pretty decent OOC opponents only to turn back into a pumpkin come BEC play. It's like the clock strikes midnight for him on October 1st. My theory on this is that by the first week in October, BE teams have more than enough tape on our offense to figure out how to stop us. Most OOC teams don't have the time and really aren't going to spend the time prepping for us like a fellow BE competitor would.

The question I have is what are Hackett and Marrone going to do to adjust? Everyone knows that Ryan gets happy feet when you pressure him so we will see a steady diet of blitzes. The best way to counteract that is to throw a LOT of screen passes, I think we threw one yesterday and it worked pretty well. We need more and more of these. Unfortunately Hackett and Marrone seem to think the best way to counteract pressure is the either the slant or to roll the pocket to the right. But BE teams know we do this so they just jam our receivers who apparently aren't strong enough to get off the line quickly and they make sure to flood the weak side of the field on roll outs. The other option I like to relieve pressure is the seam pass up the middle to a TE or receiver but god knows if Ryan has enough touch to consistently be able to hit that pass.

If none of those options are working then I'm not sure what else to do other than focus on ground and pound. Maybe run the wishbone with Broyld as a change up? The major concern I have is that there is no way the D can consistently get off the field enough to not lose if our offense isn't clicking. How many 3rd and longs did Pitt convert last night? That is not a recipe for success.
