i think it works just fine. melo played off the ball in denver and can attack from various positions. lin can use the spacing provided by melo and amare as defenders protect the pnr. if amare goes back to attack off the pnr more you have the perfect attack on offense. you also have a deep dynamic team that becomes just as dangerous with novak off the bench as a shooter. chandler can continue to dominate the glass as well. melo will get his just maybe more off the pass. denver was good with multiple weapons and melo played within just fine. amare will be in beast mode again with a good pnr pg. look at boston, pierce and garnett thrived with a good pg. lin has better shot mechanics than rondo. this could be the start of the knicks turning into a true contender. melo was being a great teammate coaching up lin tonight i think he might surprise ppl.
 
OK this is for real. And its awesome The Tebow of the NBA... and though I'm not a Tebow fan, the analogy is appropriate.

Was a big Jeremy Lin fan when he was with Harvard, but I'd love to see him play a legit defensive point guard. Fisher's a bum.
 
The kid has some Steve Nash like qualities. It will be interesting to see if he can sustain this real life Sid Finch moment.
 
So, does all this ball movement and defensive intensity go away as soon as the stars are back?

You'll get your wish tonight. Rubio is a legit defender with long arms, good size, excellent quickness and very good anticipation. I've watched all Lin's games with the Knicks and he has one weakness that sticks out. He is a bit loose with the ball sometimes. He has no problem beating guys one on one because he is so clever using screens and angles. He also has a first step that is very deceptive. I don't believe he will average 20, but he will play a lot like Nash as far as style...attacking constantly and pushing the ball. Amar'e will have no trouble playing with him but Melo will have to adapt. At this point, if Melo changes the style of the offense, he'll be booed off the court in MSG.
 
He is nothing like Tebow.

Tebow is horrible at football and he is loved only because the bible belt goes crazy over him. Lin is actually putting up superstar like numbers AND represents a big minority in the sport. Anyone can be a fan.

Yeah, there have been very few players as horrible at football as Tim Tebow. Useless college player, useless NFL player. No one could ever win anything with him on a team... wait

Average to below average white quarterback. What new grounds was he breaking?
 
I'm in mainland China now and there is no news at all about Jeremy Lin (林書豪; Romanization: Lín Shūháo) .. NBA is very big here but its not surprising that this story is not played down here since he is Taiwanese.
 
Amare ran with Steve Nash just fine. And Lin is running the point in the style of Nash, so I expect Amare is licking his chops waiting to return. I think Melo will be fine, but he's going to have to adjust. Melo did just fine on the Olympic team which I believe was more of a motion offense with fewer iso's, so I think he has already shown he can do it.
 
It's a great story, but man am I already tired of the "clever" headlines incorporating his name (Linsanity, Linderella, Linspiration, etc).

That's very interesting.
It was mentioned during the game (and I saw it reported elsewhere) that Chinese TV outlets were picking up the game.
Somehow...if this keeps up...this kid's game is going to be bigger than any government's ability to censor information about it.
