i think this has to do with the AD firing over the Rice situation -does not say Rutgers University, he introduces himself not from Rutgers but New Rochelle High School.
Has this always been the case? Just curious how recruits would view this intro.

If recruits are weighing where they go to school based on someone saying his HS versus his college, gut says we would never, ever get that kid any way. Seems like an absolutely silly-ass metric to weigh "OHHH, he said his High School...DEMERIT to the college!"
Eh, not really. If he had said "should have went to syracuse university"Think about it...
Their best most high profile recruit and player won't acknowledge that he went to Rutgers...the one they hang their hat on for everything...
Insignificant, I think not.
I don't recall saying that recruits will change their minds based on this. I think it is interesting.
Almost as silly as the amount of "love" a recruit gets on Twitter or how many letters he gets in the mail???
While I admittedly don't follow the NFL like I used to, I've never heard of someone mentioning their high school unless they didn't go to college.
Wasn't there a Syracuse local that didn't go to college but made the NFL after playing semi-pro for a few years? I wanna say he was a d-lineman that played for Pittsburgh in the '80 or early 90's. I could also be smoking something funny. Many have said their hometown over the years. And they cannot enter the draft until they are 3 years out of high school. The only player who I have ever heard of that didn't go to college is Brian Banks - he just got cut this year after being in prison for 5 years after being falsely accused then convicted of a crime while in high school.
Ray Seals, right?Wasn't there a Syracuse local that didn't go to college but made the NFL after playing semi-pro for a few years? I wanna say he was a d-lineman that played for Pittsburgh in the '80 or early 90's. I could also be smoking something funny.
Phew, whatever I'm smoking isn't all that funny. Thanks. I couldn't think of who it was. I remembered he played for the Steelers at some point but couldn't remember when and couldn't remember any other teams he played for.Ray Seals, right?
how have people not heard a million guys do that?players have been doing it for years.
especially stars where everyone knows they went.
he owes it to his town, they really did him right this off season.
its a great shout out.
seriously.how have people not heard a million guys do that?
i really hate the animated head thing they do during the games. you think it's an old fashioned head shot then the guy blinks or turns his head. freaks me out everytime
i already know what i'd doseriously.
im kind of drawn to that head thing in a macabre way.
i stare right at it and when he finally blinks or shifts his head a fraction of an inch, i jump inside a bit.
some players are better at this than others. i bet this is also talked about in locker rooms.

which just drives Al Michaels nuts.If you get 3 or more starters who went to Ohio State, you miss about 5 plays of the game.
Donte Whitner, strong safety, the...wait 30 seconds...Ohio State University.
