I think Herman should be next man up for Texas if Strong goes down... he would restore that program back to a modern offense. In reality I think Texas boosters would look down at their noses at taking a coach from Houston so they would probably make another attempt at Saban. I also could see them going after one of the Mississippi coaches.

In reality their best move is to stay the course... TCU and Baylor are on another planet from Texas in terms of talent + system this year. Strong is a proven coach and recruiter and in year 3 he will start showing results.

Charlie Strong is a good coach. This is just one more example of the fact that picking a head coach is much harder than anyone thinks. Money at a school like Texas doesnt mean squat if you dont pick a solid fit. It makes me think that we should stay the course with HCSS and his staff. They may not be sexy or have the big backgrounds but they are coming together as a staff and they know how to position Syracuse with recruits.

In addition to the entire state passing them by so quickly, it has to be killing Texas to see how quickly Florida and Michigan are back on the map in the first year of their new coach.

Probably giving Tennessee a lot to think about too.

Charlie is a good coach...but offense rules in the Big 12 and in Texas HS football. Recruits in Texas play the spread from peewee on through high school and he's a defensive minded coach. I think he'd be great in the SEC or ACC where defense actually matters and isn't just a thing you do in between offensive series.

Seriously, he could really be a monster at Virginia Tech.

Kansas and Iowa State they beat. They aren't beating Tech IMO. Iowa State is not that good but its on the road so maybe they finish 2-10 but they are beating Kansas for sure.

I was at my barber getting a hair cut when the Texas - TCU game started. I said to my barber I had a feeling Texas was going to show us something against TCU.
By the time my 15 minute haircut was done Texas had shown us something, the game was all but over. They really suck...
