Looking Ahead to Houston

When intellectually outmatched, resort to violence. Predictable. I am guessing you are young. Btw, I only messed with you after you messed with me. I thought you could handle it. I was wrong, you are far too thin skinned.
Old enough for sure. Guy has been on here for years. Notorious for awful posts. Most of the time on the football board (based on username which checks out).

anytime I post its amazing, what is so awful about saying we will win every game he/she/them/they guy?

I can't wait for the game. Most interested in how Donnie presents against top foes. Also intrigued as to see how Coach Autry handles the rotation if things start going south. Who are going to be his ride or dies? Winning time is it JJ or Kiyan?

Chris Cenac is who Donnie wants to be (and who we want him to be), shoots it better and forces less

Kid plays a beautiful brand of basketball and is just one of a bunch of freshman across the country who are really impressive (I agree with the assessment that this is one of the best freshman classes in history - and we are fortunate to have gotten a couple of the better ones)

I heard on Sirius yesterday it was the depth of this year's class that led to Flagg and another kid re-classifying so as to avoid all the talent.

I see that you admire Chris Cenac very much.

But your estimation of his ability compared to Donnie Freeman is completely without merit. Below is a comparative listing of their advanced statistics, per Sports Reference. Note, the advanced ratings all attempt to normalize for possessions, quality of opponents, the other players on your team, etc. They aren't perfect, but they usually are at least within the realm of reality.

Advanced metrics like Freeman better, by a lot. It's early still, but Syracuse has played 4 cupcakes and zero real games. Houston has played 3 cupcakes and 1 real game.

Cenac PER 16 Win Shares .4 BPM 1.1 ORtg 101.4 DRtg 82.4 Average Game Score 7.2
Freeman PER 26.5 Win Shares .9 BPM 7.9 ORtg 126.7 DRtg 76.7 Average Game Score 14.4

Freeman's rate stats all point to a guy who would be a 1st Team All American and Player of the Year candidate.

Cenac's rate stats all point to a guy who is a slightly above average starter.

Cenac might be good, he might even be better than his results so far... But results matter, and results state he isn't nearly the player Freeman is through 4 games.

At least with Houston, I hope they play without pressure. A Kansas or Tenneessee, yeah, we need to be competing. Houston is house money.

Can we win? Of course. Likely? Probably not. But it's not like Houston is a juggernaut this year. They are very very good. We can hang. Have to find ways to get buckets before they get their D set. Have to make FTs.

We beat Duke one year when we were like 17 point dogs at Cameron. 11 or 12 points seems about right. There’s been a lot bigger upsets over the years.
And if I remember correctly we went down 12-0 early in that 2019 Duke game and it felt like we were about to lose by 40. And Marek almost died taking a charge from Zion.
