Is happening in the tourney. What a pathetic showing so far.
Pitt, Notre Dame, Cinnci, Vill, Gtown. All losing in an Ugly fashion.

Ehhhh, what do we care? We're in the ACC... :rolling:

Why? Only proves what most people feel. The officiating in the BE is horrible and once tourney time rolls around they all usually flame out because they don't adjust to the way the game is officiated. The Georgetown game was a perfect example. Alot of calls they let go in the BE were getting called. It was at the point where Georgetown had to use played who rarely played to eat up those fouls

This^^^^^ in spades!

In years past this would have bothered me, but I'm over the idea of rooting for conference members. The new Big East would be wise to change its interpretation of what constitutes a foul in the future, both due to the fact that it's hurting the teams in the tournament and that games in the forties are not appealing to viewers.

guess everyones bigeast diploma's are worth a little less...

And, you started a string calling the ACC a joke of a conference for putting 4 teams into the tourney. Obviously you meant to say the selection committee is a joke and they obviously misssed the mark by not including UVA and Meryland in the big dance.

Three appearances in the regionals from ACC teams not named Duke or North Carolina since expanding to 12 teams (2006). You were saying?

And you seem to forget the two national titles, but that was from Duke and UNC. Where as UConn carried the weight for the Big East when it really counts. Yes, Cuse contributed a title as will but we don't celebrate titles, we only celebrate number of teams getting into a tourney even though the selection process is obviously flawed.

The BE has been expossed for its lack of offensive talent, which is a problem through out the NCAA this season. The problem for these BE teams is that they rely on moving screens to initiate offense and they foul to impeed the oposition from initiating offense. Both of these are called much more frequently outside of the BE conferense. I'm very glad we are leaving the BE it hasn't really been the BE for a long time and its aided less talented teams for the last 12 years or so. I hope Lville and Marq go down today because they are the two teams left who are most familiar with our defense. I hope Florida is right behind them because Bill D knows our defense, has the players to attack it as well as press us and wear MCW and Brandon out.

Yeah, this is my stance as well. I'm not actively rooting against them, but I usually care a little bit, and this year I just don't care at all. I'm kind of enjoying our hard-fouling (non-called) friends going down.

Hypothetical question. Conference A gets 3 bids, 2 of its teams flame out in round 1 and the other team wins it all. Conference B gets 8 bids, 5 in the Sweet 16, 4 in the Elite 8, two in the Final 4 and one in the national title game. Which league (since, you know, only one team can win a title in a given year) had the better showing?

Sort by national titles, become conference expert.

Your Tar Heels barely beat the BE #7/8 team. I wouldn't be doing too much crowing.

Joe, you are right about that. Survive and advance baby, survive and advance. For one of Carolina's worst teams ... Fora team that lost 95% of everything, for a team who lost 4 first round draft selections, I will take it.

Ok Mr. Palmer, you are right. The Big East since expansion has been head and shoulders the best conference during the regular season. That success is carried over come tourney selection time and for a conference that put large amounts of teams not the Big Dance, its teams make deep runs and on occasion win the tourney.

Am I to understand that in our final year in the BE I'm supposed to give a rat's a$$ what the other BE teams do (or don't do) in the NCAA Tournament? I should have rooted for G'town, Pitt and ND? Was I obligated to pull for Nova and Cinci while they played better teams? them all. The Orange are marching on so color me happy.

I give Nova a ton of credit for hanging on till the end of that one. Nova is by no means a spectacular or deep team, but they convert two of those layups they blew when the game was within two, it very well could have been different.

Not having the Arachnid in there for the key 1:30 that determined the outcome hurt.

Yeah its not your year so if you make the sweet 16 you did well. UNC might go further than that as a dark horse too. Nova hung around but didn't threaten which is exactly how I expected that one to go.

I am glad Big East teams are getting bounced. The prison ball played in that conference was a joke. Just need Lville to go down.

I don't give a about anyone but Syracuse. After they lose I move on to football
