Again Jets fans were like Syracuse fans with the prospect of hiring Chris Ash. Rex Ryan was popular even when he was fired and Jets fans didn't like the idea of hiring the Bills HC when they just fired Rex.

Marrone was a finalist for the Bears job as well but John Fox got fired  from Denver and got that job.

Marrone went 9-7 last year but the Patriots gave him that 9th win. He was solid in the NFL 15-17 he was going to get atleast 1 more year. If the Bills didn't get an ownership change he would likely have 2 years barring a disaster but since he knew with the change he was only getting 1 more year and with the Pats SB champs in his division he wanted security. Pegula probably said no he took his money and now will get his chance this offseason.
