Rankings mean nothing. I think Kadary already proved that and woody did to. Woody showed he was good in the limited time he was given.

And for anyone who says recruiting rankings don’t matter or predict how good they’ll be in college: I’ll take my chances with the more highly rated recruits any day of the week and twice on Sunday. LGO!

Way to go out on a limb lol

Well you’re the one saying rankings mean nothing so have fun with Braswell over Melo and James Thues over Pearl lol. I’d say our coaches evaluate talent pretty well and have done so for many years.

Well of course you would rather have the top 25 players. Does that really need to be said. But there’s a lot of gems who are underrated as well from year to year. Like Kadary and woody this year.

How long and how many threads are we going to have to hear about losing Kadary and how bad of a loss and screw up that was?
Will that number be equal to or exceed the number of threads showing SU came out on top with the portal?

And I’d say just next year will be sufficient for time.

Correct and we’ve had a great track record of finding them and using them correctly in our system (Hak, Moten, Etan, etc.) But sometimes it works out and others times it doesn’t (Kadary, Woody, BJ Johnson to name a few).

Right now the list of things more enjoyable than following and discussing SU sports is really long. We are one really really pissed off fan base one way or the other.

Fitting that Wrestlemania is this weekend. I think Vince McMahon could book some matches with some of the posters on here.

Kadary is unlike almost any other player we’ve had transfer out of the program. Usually the guys we lose aren’t that great or their production and skills are at least replaceable. Kadary is a special talent and one that will be difficult to duplicate. Losing him is gonna sting for a long time. Fans are gonna bring it up all next season, no matter how good we are. That’s just the reality. JB will probably be making references to Kadary in his press conferences next year. Now if they go out and get a transfer like Adam Miller or Marcus Carr or some other high level PG, that could change. But if we’re rolling with JG3, you can bet you’ll hear all about how much better we’d be with Richmond.

like with the opposite sex, the one that got away is always the right one. I think we should wait to see how it plays out with both Joe and Kadary before we declare anything about who we would be better with. Next year could long a lot different. I could see Joe looking a lot like the kid that has killed us for the last 40 years.

Kadary is a big loss. But as a group I’ll take the bottom 4 over the top 4 in a landslide

Who the hell cares about the high school rank of a kid who has been in college for 2-3 years?

"FWIW"

I had to have something to objectively evaluate them. I agree that they are a very imperfect ranking: I always call them a snapshot of a player taken at a moment in time. Fans often complain that our recruits are rated high enough and that that's the reason for the decline of the program. Even those of us who question the relevance of these rankings would admit that if we consistently get higher rated recruits than another school we will probably be better than they are. Certainly if we had one class with the #25, #36, #44 and #75 recruit that would be the occasion for considerable excitement around here.
