2 refs see the same play. one has a good view.. one has no view at all.. why is the ref on the baseline not standing up for what is his call and letting a ref with absolutely no way to see the play overruling him? its not a reviewable call but it is over-turnable when 2 refs disagree.. no way that outside ref can ever make that call in a game and the ncaa should reprimand him for even thinking he could make the call.

the replay just made it worse. its not even clear from where that ref stood he could even see the baseline thru all the players legs/feet

That's what confuses me.

Doesn't that guy say to himself, "Huh, why is the idiot 30 feet away with ABSOLUTELY ZERO PERSPECTIVE overruling me??? I'm on the baseline with a perfect view of the play."

Or, is it just customary that once you're overruled, you let it go?

To be fair to "lead" he has just inbounded the ball on the other side of the lane, and couldn't possibly have gotten over there to see that.

you cant let a guy over rule you , but you also should stand up for yourself when you go to the replay to check the clock and see it was a bogus call.. you should say something like, man im pretty sure i was right and he was in, and the other dude should say something like , you know i dont think i had the greatest angle lets go with your call..

and he still saw it better than the buy our by the hash marks.

Could you imagine if they hit that gamewinner??

Unreal.

They're supposed to make eye contact on that, and the one with the bad angle will nod to the other.

To be honest, we don't know that. If he had clearly seen Cooney didn't step on the line, he would have said so. But I don't think he did either one.

sad part in from where that ref was you can be 3 inches in bounds and cant tell, yet he comes in and pounds the floor like I got this.. you make a call like that you better make sure.. was he the same ref closest to theLydon block at the end with all kinds of contact?

I'll have to watch the replay later tonight or tomorrow. But it wasn't three inches, it was more like less than one.

that was my point, the call was foot on the baseline. you can possibly see that from the sideline angle, let alone you would have to be able to see thru cooneys foot to see where his toe was.. the ref had no business making the call even if it was the correct call.

Guarantee that other ref was pissed. Balls of steel to make that call from nearly half-court.
