Lost this game with 17 seconds to go in first half. Had 6 point lead and the ball with 17 seconds remaining. Gillon with a travel, and they come back to drain 3 at the buzzer. We have played absolutely terrible basketball at the end of the first half in at least 5 or 6 of the last games.

We have been awful in those situations for 30 years. It's the same thing as we don't box out on rebounds for 30 years.

gillon makes mind-boggling decisions all season. he scores some points in a game, everyone decides he is great. but he has been generally bad.

However, I'd throw in there that Syracuse's shuffles (and "moving" screens!) are noticed a lot more in this conference than our opponents'.

We were down 1 at Pitt with a couple minutes left in 1st half, ended up being down 7 at half. It's a huge problem.

This team lacks a sense of urgency and situational awareness. They around on offense for most of the game until they let the opponent go on a run (because we also around on defense most the time). Then they wake up and play hard for a little bit so they can get the game close but go back to d!cking around before they grab the lead. After that, it's pure dumb luck that decides if we win or lose.

This team has to play fast to play well. Like a lot of Cuse teams lately, they simply cannot play slowdown halfcourt offense because the ball movement is either nonexistent or incredibly, unbelievably slow. Some of this is guards who don't understand how to manage the game, some of it is the coaches not recognizing what makes the team tick and some the lack of depth causing players to 'rest' on the court.

If this team doesn't hit 3's, they can't win. They don't have an actual offense.

Biggest problem was Lydon on the floor with 2 fouls. Robey should have been in there. He doesn't give up uncontested layups.
