Who knew what when. Paterno and his intimate knowledge of every incident including the one the DA investigated. The role of the head of that Second Mile organization by the name of Raykovitz and his relationship to PSU and Sandusky. BOT members who have, or had, knowledge of the cover ups over the years.

Wow--this just keeps burgeoning into a bigger and bigger clusterf*** for Penn State / Paterno.

So much for him being able to take the position that he did the right thing, fulfilled his legal obligation, and didn't understand how big these problems were.

He is screwed in the court of public opinion--this will forever tarnish his legacy if even a fraction of these allegations are proven.

This is going to go in a lot of directions beyond "just" child rape. If they were willing to cover THAT up, imagine the other things they were willing to bury. I think the NCAA will get involved before all is said and done.

Once these things gain traction, the train heads down hill fast... I wonder what we will know next week! Just a horrible situation!

I still don't get why they covered this up for so long. I can understand the initial cover up. But at that point you tell Sandusky to move to Montana and never come back. Why let him stay and cover it up for another dozen years? It makes no sense.

If this was an epsiode of SVU (my old name being SUSVU I consider myself an expert) it would of course turn out that the DA (who disappeared) was also a pedophile, and a few others involved were also into child pornography/molestation. Lots of blackmail to keep others in line (the GA blackmailing for a promotion, etc...).

I bet that episode airs next month - "ripped from the headlines."

I was actually thinking this. There are a lot of stories of child molesters working in teams. Also, I forget the psychological term, but basically two or more people with the same proclivities pushing each other to act. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

If anyone can find the one writer that's defending JoePa is any way, shape or form, please post the link. Court of public opinion has already killed him, they're not backing off.

Maybe Dodd's article is the one to focus on. JoePa might be willing to just end this now, and then go into hiding for his few remaining years, but his idiot son wants to ride it out a little longer.

I wonder if the Feds are going to get involved soon. PSU is a state university, no doubt getting Federal tax money. Anything that gets Federal tax money is fair game for the FBI.

I think Paterno's is an 'old school' guy. Old school guys want to pretend stuff didn't happen.

There is no such thing as the good old days. The only way to convince your self that there ever was is to pretend stuff didn't happen, and go on with life.

JoePa is 84. This guys mindset is based around the mentality that people had 50 or 60 years ago.

In his mind, he probably doesn't understand why he is being vilified. He probably told the guy to stop, and was probably promised that he would stop, maybe even a couple of times. 50 or 60 years ago, that was probably sufficient.

Thankfully, society doesn't work that way anymore.

It's going to be hard to find a Jury that 1) doesn't have some sort of allegiance to PSU or 2) is an anti-PSU resident.

Saw Matt Millen on ESPN. Played for Sandusky. On board of Second Mile. Said he had no clue Sandusky was doing this, been in his home, around his family, he actually got choked up and talked about wanting to "handle it" himself as a father. Said to him Sandusky was "your neighbor".

Slightly defended Joe Pa's character but essentially seemed genuinely shocked, hurt and upset.

I still fail to believe that more people didn't suspect things but Millen seemed stunned. I have heard stories of PSU ex-players distancing themselves from Sandusky in recent years. Millen seemed blindsided. Dude was crying on ESPN.

An old school guy wouldn't want to be associated with a guy who likes boys.

Probably figured he'd be dead by the time it came out, if at all.

I think your right when your referring to crimes such as driving drunk (not a big deal 30 years ago) or kicking the crap out of someone just because. But to me there is nothing old school or new school when your talking about crimes like this.
