Louisville Site thinks David Cutcliff is a better coach than dino lol

I think I disagreed with the whole list. Cutcliffe has done a very good job at Duke because well it’s Duke. But he is overrated. He is their Addazio.

DC is a very accomplished coach in cfb. We need to respect that. He has gotten alot more players drafted and has schemed like heck at a school with players with ivy league admissions. Calling him overrated is football ignorant and a bit too cocky riding our bowl wave. I get it, but we need to keep perspective same as expecting a NY6 bowl next year as natural program progression...

Getting Duke from the worst P5 team to a Bowl team every year is a great accomplishment. Then he had two very good seasons for any team. The last four years though not so much, 26-24 overall and 11-21 in the ACC. He benefits from playing in the weak Coastal and the 15-3 OOC is built on a weak schedule as well. The fact that it is Duke means the nearly .333 conference record is not a big deal. Heck even if you go back two years to their glory days he is 22-26 in the ACC. He is a good coach and gets a lot out of a little. They should build a statue there for him. But I will be disappointed if Babers doesn't surpass that.

I love ranking coaches 7th in their conference when they have coached exactly 0 games at the school that hired them.

Oh he is for sure better than Dave Doeren because of his

*checks notes*

big win over Gardner-Webb

Honestly don’t have a problem with the top three. Cutcliff is a really good football coach. Getting Duke to relevance is no easy task.

Relevant is a strong word. He has spent one week in the Top 20 his entire career there. And only finished Top 25 once.

Turning Duke from 1-11 to 7-6 is an amazing feat.

Indeed.

Duke was THE punchline about bad college football teams for literally DECADES.
Like GERG x Rutgers x UConn levels of ineptitude, for ages.

Now they generally win as much or more than they lose, are competitive most years, and make bowl games on the regular.

For an all-time cellar dweller program, at what is clearly a hoops school, that's pretty remarkable.

Steve Spurrier is probably the only coach who ever won there prior to Cutcliff.
